Exactly Adam. The thing that pisses me off the most is they kept me waiting almost a week after the release date to tell me I wouldn't be getting it. My copy from Nuclear Blast is on the way so hopefully receive it in the next few days.

That really sucks, Paul. Disgraceful behaviour from Amazon. I'd be leaving them a snotty Trust Pilot review for that one if it were me. That company must know A) how many units of a limited item they can obtain for sale, B) how many orders they can take for it and C) that they're not going to be able to supply yours at all long before the day you expect to get it.

Well fucking Amazon have let me down again. I've had the Opeth Last Will and Testament box set pre-ordered since 2nd August and since its release last Friday they've been telling me it's arriving today. Got an email today saying it's now not available so my order is cancelled by them.
I've now lost almost a week when I could have got it elsewhere and seems to be in short supply now. Fortunately I've found Nuclear Blast have it in stock so ordered from them though it's now costing me an extra £20. I don't normally go in for these expensive box sets for most bands but Opeth are a rare exception with me, being my favourite still working band. In future I won't be doing any pre-orders with Amazon and will buy my music elsewhere as much as possible.

I've bought stuff from Bandcamp but they really take the piss with shipping costs, sometimes making the cost of a Cd near £30! I usually don't bother as soon as I see that sort of price.

When are we getting those fancy future teleportation thingies? I'm sick of modern shipping technology!

^ I hear you. I've bought a few CDs off Bandcamp for delivery to the UK, and it's not cheap!

Nothing beats going to a physical store but online I always try to buy from bandcamp when possible, I've come to really enjoy that website. Biggest problem is the shipping for me, it is just not cheap to get stuff shipped to Iceland and that's even if I'm not getting absolutely fucked by the toll office.

So, Rarewaves was being quite good but now is leaving something to be desired that one of my orders has gone AWOL in the post.
It's pretty obvious at this point that one of the three items from an order is lost as they ship items separately and I'm still waiting for the first of the three they said they shipped whereas items 2 and 3, one of which was sent a day later, both arrived a week ago. They say on their website to get in touch if an order doesn't arrive after a week from dispatch. What they don't tell you is that rather than help you at that point they'll fob you of and ask you wait another seven working days before they say they'll take action. Red flag. I've been here before with online sellers. You can wait the seven working days only to then be asked to wait an additional amount of time from then. Seven working days from the date of their reply to me would take me to almost three weeks since the date of my order.

I got the items I was waiting for from them today. Took a week in all but I can live with that. And yes, use their own site. I wish I'd known about it sooner as the items I'd ordered would have cost about £5 less.
They do free P&P over £10 too which is very reasonable and doable. Some of their stuff is inexplicably priced higher than Amazon but mostly they are a bit less.

I've had stuff off them through Amazon and ebay. Didn't realise they have their own site. I'll check them out. Rather give the money direct to a small company than grasping Amazon.

This company looks decent - not to the point that the late Dodax was decent but tending towards better prices than HMV or Amazon, though not for every item.
https://www.rarewaves.com/ Good rep on Trustpilot although they seem slower to deliver than some others. I got a couple of items coming from them ordered a week ago (via their ebay store - only just found their own site) which haven't arrived as yet but I'm not too worried since their rep seems good. Anyone used these before?

Greedy indeed. They've also added adverts to Prime Video for paying customers and stuck ad-free viewing behind an additional paywall.
Prime still pays for itself in delivery if you buy a lot from them but there's no doubting Amazon's greed. Them who have the most always want more.

I see Amazon has put up their minimum purchase for free delivery up to £35 (UK). Guessing it's gone up elsewhere too. Sheer greed the profits that company makes. I'll be buying my music elsewhere unless I have no choice.

^ I buy both. I generally prefer vinyl but if it's overly expensive I'll go for the CD. I'm also put off vinyl if the sides are very short. E.g. they've split a 50 minute album over 4 sides of vinyl.

I haven´t purchased or listened to a CD in many years. If I want something tangible, I´ll purchase a vinyl. There´s still something magical about vinyls...CDs not so much.

CD's are getting expensive these days, even on Amazon. £18 is not unusual. Any suggestions for cheaper online prices will be gratefully received.
