They were pretty awesome shows. I'd love to be able to go back in time and attend again. The memory has faded over the years. It would be wonderful to have a copy of those shows in order to revisit them.

I would have killed to see either of those at the time. Though Metallica for Justice with Queensryche for Mindcrime opening may have been the king of all the metal tours at that point.

My first concert was the summer of 1988 Monsters of Rock tour. Van Halen - Metallica - Scorpions - Dokken - Kingdom Come. The second was David Lee Roth with Poison as the opening act.

It was a tough choice between Van Halen and Dokken, but Dokken got my vote in the end.

I missed that one to see Monsters of Rock with Whitesnake / Skid Row / Great White / and some no-name band at Alpine Valley about 3 months before SRV was killed leaving his gig there (summer 1990 - wow)
