I went to see Lord Dying yesterday in Copenhagen, at one of the smallest venues I´ve yet been to. I think there was maybe 60-70 people tops in the audience and the room was relatively packed...so yeah it was a very small venue. The bill was: Lord Dying Blind Monarch Cestode I didn´t see Cestode, but entered the venue halfway through Blind Monarch set, and they were great live. Ultra heavy doom/sludge metal with a screaming frontman. The scene was so small that he performed on the floor among the audience. Lord Dying was incredible. I´ve seen them once before, but I don´t really know much of their music, but they are a great live band. My and me mate had a talk with the drummer after the show, because we had tell him how great we thought he played. What a fantastic drummer that one. So it was a nice show and I´ll definitely go see Lord Dying again if they come to Denmark. The only downside is that today I have the most ridiculous hangover. The room is spinning and I´m not sure the content of my stomach will stay where it is. Holy shit...the amount of beers and drinks that went down my throat last night will sometime in the future be called legendary...

Our government has swung back to the right, but it's still well to the left of the UK tories and the US Democrats.

Wish we were having a general election. 13 years of the Tory shitshow have brought this Country to its knees.

Yeah, I think we both rate pretty well in the functional democracy department.

Yeah I´m always hearing all sorts of horrible election day stories from around the world, with murders, bombs, threats, and of course election cheating, and therefore praise the fact that I actually live in a "real" democracy, with protected rights and a well functioning legal system.

Election day today! Can't legally express political opinions online on election day, but most people are predicting a change of government.
Just went and voted and it was so easy and quick. I wish it was the same for everyone else around the world.

Boy am I fucking pickled right now! Had about 3 cosmopolitans and have been downing shots afterwards ever since! Must've drained a good chunk of a 1.75 liter bottle of vodka already. I think it's safe to say sleep will come easy for me tonight(which is good, cause I'm an insomniac).

Saw Napalm Death and Wormrot last night. I'm suffering the fucking consequences today but fuck it, if there's a mosh pit, I'm in - 51 years be buggered!
First up was Cuck, a band from Dunedin (the biggest city south of Christchurch). Noisy and loose as fuck, and lots of fun! And them Wormrot. Just fucking amazing! I was front and centre, parked in front of the drummer (I could feel the air coming out of his bass drum). He's just so fucking good! Amazing sound, amazing pit, it just fucking went off! The singer went for a stage dive a couple of times, which I hadn't seen for years. And then Napalm Death were just another level of awesome on top of that. Barney just looks so unlikely to be the singer in this band. He's all arms and legs flailing all over the place, but just absolutely roars his way through their songs. His between song banter is highly political and a bit geeky, but he really engages a crowd. And I got to shake hands with him at the end. Shane, Mitch and Danny are just so fucking tight, and all three are awesome to just stand there and watch. Anyway, I'm deaf as fuck, sore, and have a headache. Fuck it was good!

When I was a student 30+ years ago, I worked at an agricultural research centre one summer. A couple of guys from Carlsberg were busy growing barley there (they got two summers by splitting the research between Northern and Southern hemispheres!) and I got a bit of Carlsberg merch off them, as well as a decent sampling of the final product. I can sympathise with the hangover.

Just came home from a long day on an away game trip to see my football team play. Our supporters (including me) rode on a bus from Lyngby to Aarhus (just under 200 km), watched the game (and lost :-(), and then rode the bus home again (200 kms)....but, but, but...Carlsberg sponsered free beer and cider on the whole trip, so it wasn´t alll bad, although I´m badly hungover right now.

I went to a Copenhagen extreme metal bar called Left Hand Path yesterday for the release party of Panzerchrist´s new album "Last of a Kind". As it turned out the rain was pouring down all evening, so me and my buddy ended up spending most of the evening drinking beers at my house, watching premier league football, but when the rain stopped, we went to Copenhagen. At that point the release party was over, but it was still nice to have a few beers at a metal bar where only extreme forms of metal are played: https://lefthandpath.dk/ http://www.metalmusicarchives.com/album/panzerchrist/last-of-a-kind

4 pints is about my limit these days. Too many bad hangovers in the past to go down that road again.
