Going to see my football ( soccer) team at 16:00 today. If we win that game we will be number 2 in the league, which will be quite an achivement, as we only entered the best league in Denmark this season. One of our biggest talents got a bad injury in the last game though and will have to spend the next 4 - 6 months away from the pitch, so thats a major blow.

My original hometown's football team made it to #2 this year after decades of struggling. I don't really follow the sport at all, especially on a national level, but after years spent in the lower leagues it's great to see the hometown boys coming back Thumbs Up

Worked 1-10 today (but didnt clock out till close to 11) Rawks $48 in tips.
Add this to the $60 in tips from my last 2 days and 12 hours of work for them...
This isn't too shabby.

I certainly understand the social hangout aspect of football or sports in general, but I tend to dislike pretty much all sports, at least watching them. Football (soccer) can be fun to play with friends on a hot summer day in the middle of nowhere but I wouldn't watch it on TV.

i can shoot pretty accurate, but don't aim on my head (i am a terrible head player), don't even think about puit me in the goal (as a goal keaper), I am a bit afraid of the ball (though I throw pretty acurate as well9

im an k dribbler, but my shots and cross passings is pretty good, I can open up a defence with ONE  smart passing (done it many times)

I've always been one of the smallest guys growing up, and I'd often be the one stuck playing goalie in pretty much any sport I played during recess.  I recall playing goalie all but once when we'd play lacrosse in gym class, even though I could cradle the ball better than most of my classmates.

I'm a sports junkie.  I pretty much enjoy watching all sports on TV, although soccer and tennis are more of when nothing else is on alternatives.  I did watch a number of World Cup matches and tennis matches at Wimbledon, although I don't really care otherwise.  Growing up I used to play baseball, football, basketball, and street hockey with my buddies.  I was usually one of the better players with my buddies, but then I would play in an organized league or at school at it would turn out that I wasn't very good, I was just better than my buddies. LOL  Nowadays, I am just an old fart relegated to the armchair.  I did go bowling on Sunday for the first time in 2 years, but I rarely participate in sports any more.

I'm not very picky when it comes to sports either.  I'll even watch billiards or darts sometimes when they show them on sports channels.  I could never embrace watching poker though.

Me too.  Although I was at my sister's house a couple of weekends ago, and we were watching some poker training show or something.  The contestant was given a professional card shark coach to offer advice, although the coach couldn't know what the contestant's cards were.  The contestant played against a celebrity card player who was playing for charity.  The particular episode that we watched had the lady from Dancing With The Stars at the celebrity card player.  They were playing Texas Hold' Em, which apparently passes for what is poker these days.

I guess I'm just too asocial to appreciate that ;-) I don't get the following-one-team mentality; I don't judge people for doing that, but I just don't understand it, if you know what I mean. I did experiment with it when I lived in Manchester, but I ended up picking teams to follow for totally stupid and abstract reasons. I picked Manchester City, because I used to bicycle past their youth training fields on the way to the university, and I picked Arsenal because they played dirty (and everyone else in my house hated them, so I guess that choice was governed by my inner rebel). Anyway, I didn't learn anything from that experiment, but I tried it so you ain't got nuthin' on me ;-)

I do dislike, and judge, those football fans who are violent, drunk, threatening, destructive etc. Those guys are [%&*@]s. But I don't judge those who actually enjoy the game and have a team that they follow. I just don't understand it and I am not interested in it. That being said, I have seen some pretty impressive things - like some dribbling maneuvers (including an amazing move by a Dutch player [Dennis Somethingsomethingsomething], some shots at goal, some saves, some tactical details, some tackles etc. - which even I could see were pretty amazing, but that's never been enough to get me hooked on the game.

I don't like American football either. I find it too boring. I do get the rules and all that, but I still think it's friggin' boring.

I'm not anti-sport, though. I did ju-jitsu for three years as a kid, and later I practised capoeira for more than a decade. I also followed K1 for some time, but it just ended up being a sort of freak show with bulgy American steroid monsters sloppily pummeling each other, so I gave up on that.

Bowling! That's something I'm pretty good at actually, though I've only played it while I was still in school. During the last high school years the school moved near to a bowling hall, so during free periods people could went to bowl and grab a beer there, and then back to class. Now that's relaxing studying! Never personally tried the beer part though, I saved such beverages for other times.

Hehe.  After a few beers you are aiming for 20 pins instead of 10 pins.  So I guess that means that you get a strike if you knock half of the pins down. LOL

^LOLgood one Scott.

Im strictly a football guy ( soccer). First of all I spend to much time following my team that I dont have time for other sports and secondly its the only sport that ever really grabbed me. And dont worry Im not destructive and seldom drunk ( well the latter has been known to happen the times weve advanced from one league to a better one which has happened a lot in the last 10 years as the club went bankrupt in 2001 and Lyngby was relegated three leagues as punishment.)

Ice hockey for me anyday Hug Bowling, floorball, they're lots of fun to play as well, as is my newest love, disc golf. I love watching the american football and during the last WC I developed a liking for football as well, after ten or something years of not watching it at all. But it was fun to play at times back when all the childhood friends still lived in the same place. Basketball and beach volley were cool too.

My original hometown's ice hockey team lost today to my present hometown's team, meh. I'm still rooting for the guys I grew up watching, but even though I follow NHL more closely I've never really had a favourite team there. I'm happy if the Finnish guys do well.

My fingers always get totally blistered up when I play a round of bowling or two with the in-laws, so I have all sorts of banda-aid and sports tape on my fingers when I go bowling... so I almost look like a pro, but I play like a noob.

I seem to remember that happening to a couple of clubs. I think that B1909 went through the same punishment.

oh yeah Danish football is not in a good shape financially and hasnt been for the last 10 years. Both Boldklubben Frem and Fremad Amager, that are both proud traditional clubs in Denmark have been relegated in recent years because of bankrupcies.

Thumbs Up Only too bad Detroit didn't make it, but at least I'm happy since the Finnish guy scored twice. One of my dreams is to see an NHL game some day, and for a couple of the last season starts it's been possible, but the tickets have been so hellishly expensive that I've preferred not going. Perhaps next year...

Nice to see the Raptors getting their first victory of the season, defeating the other team that lost their biggest star (Cavaliers).  The only downside of the game is how they felt they needed to push for the 100th point to give the fans free pizza.  I really wish they'd stop that promotion because it gets the crowd to cheer loudly for no good reason (they'd cheer if we got point 100 and lost 120-103).

Just when my spirits were high, I tuned in for some CFL action to find my Argos up 30-20 at the end of the 3rd quarter.  The first thing I saw was a pointless interception on 2nd down when QB Cleo Lemon tosses a ball into the middle of nowhere.  He later overthrew another ball on a 2nd and 1 on a possession late in the 4th when up by a touchdown.  The Montreal Alouettes eventually tie the game and are set up for a field goal in the last seconds.  They miss, but in a series of punts off the missed kick eventually leads to the Als piling on the ball in our endzone.  Montreal 37, Toronto 30. Angry

Most Argos fans had already lost patience with our 30 year old "rookie" QB (who played briefly in the NFL), and I doubt this one will earn him more supporters.  I'll be shocked if Lemon is the starting quarterback next season.

I'm sure I'm the only one here that gives a damn about the subject, but it was just too frustrating to witness. LOL

No, Mr Time Signature does not wear briefs. Nor does he wield samurai katana, and he does not have bear's ears either. Also, Mr Time Signature has more androgenic hair than the gentleman in the picture and is not of Asiatic origin. Moreover Mr Time Signature is way too shy to pose quasi-undressed in front of the camera. ;-)

But, I think that this picture totally beats Manowar's well-oiled poses by several lightyears.

I'm pretty excited for that later tonight. I'm probably gettin' too old for it, but me and my buddies still like the free candy. Big smile And it's really fun to just mess around on Halloween.

Happy Halloween to y'all. I, myself, don't celebrate it, as I tend to resist the Americanization of Danish culture.

^With kids its pretty hard telling them not to go out and get free candyBig smile. If it wasnt for my kids, I wouldnt have known it was Halloween either. We dont really need one more Fastelavn now do we?

I stopped going trick or treating when I was around 15.  I'd still have a fun time taking my little sister from door to door.  Plus she's allergic to peanuts, meaning her siblings would still get around half (sometimes more) of her candy.

I actually, have never done it, in my entire life. Knowing the people that live here around me, i'm pretty sure i would get more insults than candy. LOL

That's true, it's just a second Fastelavn, and one is more than enough for me. But, of course, there's money to be made for the shops if they can sell costumes twice a year.

I'll just enjoy a Halloween-free life till my kids are born, I guess :-)

Last Halloween, all my housemates and I had to buy was just one box of chips (around 30 packs I'd guess), and we only had around 8 visitors.  One of them was just some guy (20 years old?) who walked into our house unannounced asking if some girl lived here and if this was where "the party" was.  Feeling like an idiot, he said "trick or treat" right before he left the house. LOL

Droooool. Is Norwegian leverpostei as good as Danish leverpostej? If it is, here's another round of drooooooooooool. Myseost is endroolifying too. ;-)

It is. Not everybody enjoy it, but I'd say most of the people do. I'm going there at least once a week. Feels incredibly good after physical toil.

Beer = boo! The very maximum I've managed to drink that is two and a half beers in one evening. Never liked the taste.

Haven't touched to any alhocolic beverages properly since... hmm... mid summer I guess, but tonight is an exception. It is powered by:

(Cheap but I've never gotten bored to the taste unlike with Koskenkorva for example)

and

(Never tasted this version before, we'll see.)

I remember hating beer the first times I tried it, which was also the case with wine, but nowadays I love both. I drink quite a lot of beer nowadays, little amounts often that is. Can't remember the last time I was even remotely drunkish, months ago that was, and that's as far as I pretty much ever take my consumption.

Scott, that sounds like a plan Thumbs Up Not sure though if you can find a proper one in the States.

^Nothing boring about that.

Lately I've been into tea a lot, especially a licorice brand I happened to find by chance.

Licorice tea is really nice. I'm currently on the Kusmi Tea train because my girlfriend works in a department store where she can get discounts on a lot of thing, including Kusmi Tea.
