Myspace intro bio: 'Hailing from New Jersey, the same breeding grounds that spawned acts such as Overkill and Symphony X, Dark Empire are ready to unleash another masterpiece of heavy metal on the world with the release of their sophomore album, HUMANITY DETHRONED.  Spearheaded by lead guitarist and songwriter Matt Moliti, Dark Empire play a blend of thrash infused progressive metal, combining the attitude and aggression of the former with the technical proficiency and strong melodic sense of the latter into a sound that is unmistakably their own.'

Ive taken a listen and they are actually hard to put into a specific catagory. Id say there are both power metal, thrash metal and progressive elements in their music. I even hear a bit of Gthenburg melodic death metal in the music. I think I agree about putting them in power metal though ( we have a band like Nevermore there who also fit the above description pretty well ( minus the Gthenburg influences). Id like a second opinion before adding them though.

I've added them under power metal - they might be recategorized, once they've been brainzed.
