My personal favorite is Anno Domini. Wink

Have to agree. Second Life Syndrome is probably the most nostalgic, but doesn't kill the fact that Anno Domini as a whole is very near perfection. Saw them live performing the whole album and that was even more epic.

I think Second Life Syndrome is still the best one, even though ADHD is really really good too. Especially when they played the whole album live last year, that was a brilliant show.

Id say Second Life. Anno Domini High Definition hasnt been able to captivate me one bit. I was actually rather disappointed, which can be read in my review on PA.

I like ADHD the best. I think each album has been an improvement over the previous one.

Anno Domini. The band finally developed their unique sound in the album and it is one of the best composed albums of the decade, which IS to say much because the 00's have the biggest number of prog metal releases ever.

TO the ADHD fans, if you have the chance to see Riverside don't let it slip.
The live rendition of the album is very tight and powerful. One of the best concerts I've ever seen.

PS. An they played a lot from Second Life Syndrome as well so I couldn't be happier!

After reading couple of reviews of "syndrome", I pick up this disc and it blows me away, it's damn good, I like it!

though I sense the progmetal element is quite small in here, more of an ambient or psychedelic experimentation, Tool meets Pink Floyd is a right-on comparation I guess, but it's even more accessible to casual fans, thanks for the reference, I like this and will write a review later

And what about their latest release, is it still the same approach with syndrome ?

ADHD... I only have that and their debut (which didn't really grab my attention). ADHD is fantastic, though.

Question

ADHD is far more metal than Out of Myself. Confused

I didn't see anyone headbang during their gig in Paris (they played the last album in its entirety).

Doesn't matter if you headbang or not... Confused

ADHD is pure prog metal, whereas Out of Myself is atmospheric heavy prog (ala Porcupine Tree).

^I completely agree with Jeff here. ADHD is by far Riversides most "metal" release so far and thats the main reason why I dont enjoy it as much as their earlier releases. Riverside are much better when they play Marillion/ Porcupine Tree influenced progressive rock and leave out their generic metal riffs. Just my opinion.

ok, I had some vague reminiscence of some growls on out of myself, that's probably why I thought it's metal. Anyway, the concert convinced me not to bother about this band.

Wow, that's unusual opinion. I consider REM to be quite good release too, but prefer ADHD... and SLS. To tell you the truth, I can't choose between these two, they're just too different.

Second Life Syndrome tied with ADHD. Both are mindblowing albums.
