There's quite a few of us on here who have album art as our avatars.  If you're one of those people, is there a reason why you chose that album?

Because it has nice artwork.  Oh, this one isn't even metal

I chose mine because it has a tank in it and it goes with my username.  The only Panzerchrist album that I've listened to in entirety is Room Service (and loved it), but Battalion Beast looks more awesome.

Both Room Service and Battalion Beast are great death metal albums, but Soul Collector is their best album if you ask me:
.. Album Cover

If you purchase this one:

Youll get both Soul Collector and Room Service for the prize of one.

...oh and back to the subject of this thread ( sorry I got carried awayEmbarrassed) Mine is:
.. Album Cover

"Freakery" by US grindcore act Cretin. Its not a favorite album or anything like that ( its a good Repulsion influenced grindcore album though). I just like the badass cover artwork a lot Big smile. And theres a slight blue tone to it, which is something I have in all my avatars on various sites Im involved with ( its the colour of the shirts of the soccer team I follow). Oh and Im fascinated by the bizarre story that the lead vocalist on this album used to be a man and is now officially a lady. I dont judge I just find it intriguing.

Cool topic. Smile

I chose Crimson mainly because it's one of my favorite metal albums ever. I've also always loved the artwork, so it seemed destined to be my avatar for MMA. Big smile

My avatar is just a homage to Opeth, and I will probably keep changing it to different bands such as Pain of Salvation or DT.

Disco Volante isn't my favorite album (in my top 20, though...not exactly sure where), but I do very much so enjoy the feel and the art Mr. Bungle provides with it.  Used to be Focus, but I don't think it's really a good avatar.

Mines a split between Corrupted & Meat Slave. I'm smitten, beyond belief, with Corrupted. No idea who, what, where Meat slave are, and frankly do not wish know and/or find out since the album itself is shit. I find the cover aesthetically *ahem* pleasing... for personal reasons... I'll leave it at that Wink

Since this post, I've listened to the rest of the Panzerchrist albums, and as it turns out, Battalion Beast is my favorite of the bunch, giving me another reason to pick this album as my avatar.

I don't really think mine counts. But a lot of my favorite albums work together really well so there! Cool

Now that I've decided to mix it up!

The Mantle is just an amazing album. More than "omg really awesome" but one that really had an impact on me.

Yeah, I like it. Thumbs Up The art of that album describes the whole experience very well; not a bad avatar, either.

Indeed, it is a perfect summation of the album in one picture, and an awesome one!
I've wanted to for a while but kept forgetting LOL

The Mantle was one of the few albums that had an impact on me like that. Even my favorites have rarely moved me, felt like it physically had an impact on me, but The Mantle has without doubt.

Well, I've slain the mighty Mr. Bungle for a Univers Zero picture.  Why, you ask?  Well, Univers Zero are one of those bands that I really love, but could never really talk about them here.  As people already know my love for Disco Volante (at least if you've seen my reviews/ratings), I thought it would show more...variety?  Idunno.  I also just think it's a more fitting avatar...showing a whole person (waist up at least) instead of just an eye.  Also, I kinda look like the guy Cool (at least maybe if I had those rockin' shades, already got the hair).

RIO FTW.

In a word: amazing.

It's both their heaviest and most progressive album yet. The Detached is one of my favourite albums of all time, but I can't say that Anubis Gate isn't on par with it in every aspect. I like that it has a different feel to it as well, and not just because of the singer change, because I think Henrik Fevre delivers vocals in the same style as Jacob Hansen did. There's some electronic elements in the sound, but they work really well IMO.

Topping my albums of 2011 list now. Headbanger
