Foo Fighters just announced that their drummer Taylor Hawkins died yesterday, aged just 50. No cause of death was given.

R.I.P.

Yeah just heard. A real shock. Very sad, RIP.

I guess that's the world tour over?

Quite shocking news to see first thing in the morning.

Although he wasn't there from the start, I always thought of Taylor as the most key member of the band after Dave, sometimes taking on lead vocals instead of him. The band won't be the same again.

The colombian police says that they suspect it was a drug overdose, which wouldn´t be surprising given his prior history with drugs.

Or the country they were in.

I just heard an interview with Jon Toogood from Shihad this morning. Basically, Shihad is a band that is world famous in New Zealand* but he reckoned Hawkins really loved Shihad and would watch them from the side of the stage when they were supporting the Foo Fighters. Just reckoned he was a really cool guy, and really supportive of what Shihad were doing.

^I remeber Shihad from the 90s. Didn´t know they still exist.
