Per title, what's a great song from an album you otherwise don't think is that great?

I'll start, with the inspiration for this thread:

Nightwish - Elvenpath from Angels Fall First.

Bastards by Machine Head. Catharsis is a mess of an album

Umbabarauma by Soulfly from the self-titled debut.

Moonshine by G.B.H.

The Fight from Operation Mindcrime's Resurrection. Really pleasant ballad:

I think you already know, but I want to say that Umbabarauma is a classic of brazilian music, by the great Jorge Ben Jor.

This is the reason this is the only barely listenable song from the Soulfly debut!

No, very surprised! I did not know that was a cover. I'm not sure if I just wasn't paying attention or if it wasn't mentioned much at the time. Just listening to the original now. (My version of the album also has the Discharge covers too, so those are reasonably good too!Wink)

Bat Country by Avenged Sevenfold from City of Evil. At the very least it's the only song from that album I remember kind of enjoying.

I actually kinda liked this album when it first came out, but yah on a re-listen, besides Bastards, it’s not great.

Machine Head - Locust

I used to listen to this one all the time in collage, but I rarely listened to anything else on the album.

Van Canto - Battery

I find Van Canto's covers of famous songs a fun novelty. Their original material on the other hand I don't understand the appeal of. It's a gimmick that gets old really fast.
