I´m not really a fan of Lamb of God, but I like the other three. Since you put an emphasis on the groove part of the bands sound, I won´t vote Sepultura, as it´s the thrash metal part of their sound I enjoy the most. Pantera. Always the first band I think of when it comes to groove metal. Sepultura I also like a lot and unlike many I tend to favour Derrick Green's era which is primarily groove metal orientated, but there's no contest with Pantera. I have a couple of Lamb of God albums and they are a band that I'd file under 'guilty pleasure', meaning I tend to enjoy them much more than I think I should do. For me it's Gojira any day of the year. They've become one of my favourite metal bands in recent years. Having said that, I only know a handful of albums from the other 3 so perhaps my vote is skewed. ------------- Star baby, did you deep fry a piece of the Great Barrier Reef? |

Sepultura. Saw them live a couple of years back and they were awesome. Also saw Pantera, of whom three quarters were awesome and their singer was a stumbling drunk fuckwit. Love Gojira, but really wouldn't have considered them groove metal. Lamb of God... yeah, no thanks.

I think most people who saw Pantera live from the mid-90s onwards saw a drunk and heroin drugged Phil on stage rambling nonsense for minutes at a time between tracks. He was a mess in those days. All great bands. Sepultura, Pantera and Gojira have all time favorite albums but Lamb of God is probably the most consistent over the long haul. I voted for LofG since nobody else did. All four bands rank high in my world. -------------
