Hi all, this is my very much belated introduction thread. Some of you may have seen me on the main site before but I finally made the jump over to the forum.

I'm active/been active in a few other metal/general music communities before under the same name. Sharon is not actually my name but I had a thing when I was younger about not using my real name online and Sharon has since stuck, so I still end up using it so people realise it's the same person. My real name is Nicole. Call me either, I really don't mind.

I already know a few people here through the Heavy Metal Haven forum which I used to co-run with Adam (adg211288) before it's closure.

I like a bit of most metal genres and some non-metal stuff but at the moment I find I mostly listen to power, traditional and progressive metal.

Good to finally see you on the boards Nicole Thumbs Up

I'm presently catching up on eighties trad I'd missed first time round, so if you have any recommendations I'd appreciate it.

My knowledge is probably better for later years but I do have a few 80's heavy metal bands in my collection.

Chastain
Grave Digger (first three albums plus the one done as Digger are heavy metal, heavy/power metal after that)
Running Wild (first two albums are heavy/speed metal, later ones turn towards power metal but still strong heavy metal elements)
Nightmare (80's records are heavy metal, later ones heavy/power metal)

Other than that I only really know the usual suspects for the time I'm afraid. My knowledge has a lot of gaps

no worries, I know all of them.

We don't have many followers of early metal here, so always take the opportunity to ask where I can Big smile

Have you heard Prophets of Doom, which was the first band of original Anubis Gate singer Torben Askholm? Late 80's, but 80's trad nonetheless.
