Hey CE,
topo brings up a good point, did you want Oriental/Asian/Middle Eastern Bands from their perspective
Countries (with their influences)?  Or ANY Band with those Continents influencial sounds?
Then Nile is a great example of Extreme Metal with Egyptian/Middle Eastern influences .
Also if you are in a "mellower" mood, try Marty Friedman (ex-Megadeth) and his 2 Solo Albums
"Scenes" and "Intermission" that are very influenced by Japanese Traditional Music and he
sometimes makes his Guitar sound like a "Shamisen" .  He speakes Japanese like a native and is
a Big Celeb there as he makes alot of TV appearances (and he lives in Japan now)!  He also plays
Metal guitar with traditional Female Japanese singers, its pretty amazing!

I'd put up some Vids from the 2 albums from YOUtube but I might get .
