I think I much prefer the older acts mentioned here than most of the newer female led acts such as Within Temptation, Nightwish and Lacuna Coil. I can�t say I�ve heard all their releases but the albums I�ve heard by most modern female led acts focused way too much on the female vocalist ( both in image and in sound), which means that the riffs and the instrumental side of the music tends to be backing and quite generic stuff. I like my music to be interesting both vocally and instrumentally, but mostly instrumentally and that�s probably the main reason why I don�t really enjoy the albums by the modern female led acts that I�ve listened to.
