I recently purchased Andromeda: The Definitive Collection because I found out about the band on YouTube in a proto-metal compilation video. The guitarist is John Du Cann of Atomic Rooster fame. The music is very guitar driven and sometimes quite heavy. There are Cream, Yardbirds, and Led Zeppelin influences and resemblances, but I also find some of the song structure is more advanced and suggestive of later metal bands in the 70's. I wrote a review for them but they are not on MMA (though they are on Prog Archives - see my review there). I couldn't find an official web site since they split up in late '69 or early '70 but here are some links that have some information about their music:

I hope they will be accepted as proto-metal. The music is driving and energetic and the guitar solos often blazing.

Thanks.
A story told that can't be real somehow must reflect the truth we feel.

I doubt this band will be accepted considering that is a rock band.

Lots of proto metal acts are rock bands. Let´s give the proto team time and Space to consider the suggestion.
