ARKHAM WITCH

"Legions of the Deep": new songs, artwork and more album details revealed.

England's own traditional metal brigands ARKHAM WITCH return with their 2nd album "Legions of the Deep" which will be released on November 9th through Metal on Metal Records. Those who know the previous works of the band know their personal take on NWOBHM, traditional heavy and doom metal. Lyrically the album features the familiar weird pulp fiction obsessions, Lovecraftian monsters, Howardian heroes, underground occultism, killer cyborgs and zombie cowboys, and musically it strides the frequencies between bands like DEEP SWITCH, HELL, WITCHFINDER GENERAL, JUDAS PRIEST, PENTAGRAM, SAINT VITUS, MANILLA ROAD, CIRITH UNGOL and of course THE LAMP OF THOTH, the former band of ARKHAM WITCH vocalist Simon and drummer Emily.

A teaser for the "Legions of the Deep" album (featuring a fragment of the title track) can be watched on YouTube. The title song features additional vocals by Leo Stivala of Maltese doom metal veterans FORSAKEN. A short clip documenting this recording session that took place on June 23rd in the studio of Chris Grech (NOMAD SON) in Mellieha, Malta, has also been posted by the label on YouTube.

Three songs off the album, "At the Mountains of Madness", "Infernal Machine" and "The Cloven Sea", are available for streaming from Metal on Metal Records website.

The track listing for "Legions of the Deep" is as follows:
  1. David Lund
  2. At the Mountains of Madness
  3. Iron Shadows in the Moon
  4. Infernal Machine
  5. The Cloven Sea

The cover art was painted by Jowita Kaminska-Peruzzi (Exodus, Witchburner, Attacker, Forsaken, Meliah Rage, Manilla Road, Deceased...) who is also the owner of Metal on Metal Records. More details about "Legions Of The Deep" and high-res cover image are available on the page of this release.

Until November 6th ARKHAM WITCH "Legions Of The Deep" CD is available for pre-order from Metal on Metal Records shop, and the digital download (in lossless formats) from the Bandcamp page.

AFTER OBLIVION

"Stamina": new songs, artwork and more album details revealed.

"Stamina", the debut album from Bosnia and Herzegovina based old school tech death/thrash metal band AFTER OBLIVION, will be released on November 9th through Metal on Metal Records. The label states: "AFTER OBLIVION's music can be simply described as a homage to '90s period DEATH, as the band deliberately embraces Chuck Schuldiners legacy, however it also bears a personal stamp thanks to the passion and talent of these young musicians. "Stamina" is not just a display of technical virtuosity, but it's full of emotion, atmospheric and intense."

A short album promo clip can be watched on YouTube.

Three complete songs off "Stamina" have been made available for streaming. You can listen to "Hatred Profound" exclusively from Metalunderground website and to "Breeding Perdition" and "The Carnal Form" from Metal on Metal Records website.

Here is the complete track list for "Stamina":

MELIAH RAGE

"Where Nothing Ever Grows" music video; Warriors of Metal festival 2013.

Power/thrash metal veterans from Boston MELIAH RAGE have recently released a video for "Where Nothing Ever Grows". The clip was produced by Brad Piche and Branden Maxham of Omnidawn Productions, who previously worked with the band on the "Hourglass" and "Halo of Flies" videos. The song comes from the band's seventh full-length album "Dead to the World", released in July 2011 through Metal on Metal Records, and lyrically deals with post-traumatic stress disorder. In the role of the soldier suffering from it you can see none other than the band's own bass player Darren Lourie. The video can be watched on YouTube.

MELIAH RAGE have been confirmed as the Friday night headliner for the 6th edition Warriors Of Metal Fest Open Air that will take place on June 27th-29th 2013 in Pataskala, Ohio.

Band founder and guitarist Anthony Nichols states: "We in Meliah Rage are excited to announce that we will be headlining the first night of Warriors Of Metal Fest VI Open Air next year which will be the 25th anniversary of our debut release "Kill to Survive" and so we shall play the majority of the songs from that record during our set. This will be our one and only appearance in the midwestern United States region in 2013 and with any luck we'll have a new record out by then as well!"

Confirmed acts for Warriors Of Metal Fest VI Open Air include so far: Alas Negras, Amadis, Attacker, Axenstar, Brazen Angel, Dantesco, Dawn of Valor, Fiakra, Flotsam and Jetsam, Iron Will, Meliah Rage, Mistress, Noble Beast, October 31, Ravage, Seax, Skull Hammer, Solvo Animus, Sonic Pulse, Twisted Tower Dire, Vindicator, Voltax, Wulfhook.

Hot flashes

OUTRAGE in the studio recording the follow up to "Go To Hell".

German black/thrash metal veterans OUTRAGE have recently started recording their next album "The Elemental War" in InnerEar studio, Pforzheim. The album will be released in 2013 which will be the 30th anniversary of the band.

OUTRAGE were formed in 1983 and belonged to the first wave of black metal, however they have been under the radar for many years, remaining one of the most obscure bands in this genre, in spite of releasing 4 demos in the '80s and putting out 6 CDs after the reunion in 2004. In 2011 they signed with Metal on Metal Records which released their 7th full-length "Go to Hell" in November the same year. "Go to Hell" consists of re-recorded versions of their early demos songs and can be listened in its entirety from Bandcamp.

According to the band's founder and guitarist, Udo "The Bringer of Doom", the new songs are in the same style as those he wrote in the '80s, but "The Elemental War" album will be more raw sounding than "Go to Hell".
