I know alot of us are in some sort of school, and with school comes studying, so i was wondering, what music (if any at all) do you listen to while you study?

i have been listening to subrosa for the last couple hours, yesterday i was listening to parsha,

mostly doom metal, post metal, or chill relaxing electronic for me.

Now back to studying Cry

Exams too eh?
I can quite literally listen to just about anything while studying.
I kid you not, I listened to this album while studying for math.

Well its been a while since I studied anything but nice ladiesBig smile, but when I did study I found that music style didnt matter, just as long as it was music I knew beforehand. Getting into new music while studying didnt work for me.

Jonas pretty much hit it for me, long as it was something, and something I knew because...well I'm gunna focus too much on something new!
I can't do much of anything without background on, and music works best especially studying!

Post metal is great though, "In the Absence of Truth" by Isis, anything by Pelican, and Cloudkicker worked well.
Though if you are looking for non metal, can't beat Pink Floyd! Or post rockSmile
Megadeth, Metallica, Slayer and Testament. The real Big Four of thrash metal!

This.  A billion times.

It's perfect.  Bouncy and melodic enough to put me in a good mood where I forget that I have to study, but not distracting whatsoever.  More interesting than ambient, but more restrained than post-metal.  Perfect.

I always study with music on.... I have a tough time functioning without some sort of background music on. LOL

For me it doesn't really matter that much what I'm listening to, but I generally try and avoid favorites of mine that will end up becoming distracting.

I read somewhere that it's really good to listen to music while studying. We use (mostly) our left hemisphere to learn stuff while the right one rests "inactive". However, listening to music stimulates the right hemisphere, hence facilitate the learning process - the hemispheres cooperate more easily... or something like that Tongue

I love this band no matter what I am doing but I found it extremely stimulating while studying. It's minimal jazz.

some of my study picks lately:

http://emmaruthrundle.bandcamp.com/album/electric-guitar-1

lots of post-rock, post-metal, krautrock, folk, some electronica, the occasional jazz or dro)))ne

mostly slower stuff so it's not too distracting

Heavy but beautiful at the same time. Perfect for some studying on a sunny spring day, with some nice cola and a sandwhich by your side. Cool

First of all, although you do not have to be compelled to perceive the way to browse musical composition to perform as a musician, you'll would like associate understanding of music theory. It opens such a big amount of alternative doors for you within the world of music. Music theory won't show you the way to know music, however with music theory you'll be ready to communicate musical concepts, explore music in whole new ways that, and redefine the tremendous scope that entails the magic world of music.
