A new song from Danish melodic death metallers MERCENARY entitled "The Follower" is available for streaming here: http://www.myspace.com/mercenarydenmark

The track, which was premiered during the Danish radio show "Sort S�ndag", comes off MERCENARY's sixth album, "Metamorphosis", which will be released on February 25, 2011 via NoiseArt Records. The CD was produced by Jacob Hansen (RAUNCHY, VOLBEAT, NIGHTRAGE, HATESPHERE, PYRAMAZE). In addition, the group has been confirmed for the "Power Of Metal Tour 2011" alongside SYMPHONY X, NEVERMORE, PSYCHOTIC WALTZ and THAUROROD.

Commented guitarist Jakob M�lbjerg: "'The Follower' is a taste of things to come from MERCENARY's sixth studio album, 'Metamorphosis'. The song represents a more straightforward, accessible side of MERCENARY's new sound while it also allows singer Ren� Pedersen
to display new and more melodic aspects of his vocal range. Rest
assured, however, that the album will also have far heavier and faster
songs, providing the characteristic contrasts of MERCENARY's sound." 

According to a press release, "the new incarnation of MERCENARY
displays a newfound musical focus, appetite and maturity, and while the
material is now heavier and faster, it still features the
characteristic clean vocals, catchy choruses and atmospheric keyboards
and samples. (Keyboards provided by guest musician Kim Olesen of ANUBIS GATE)."

MERCENARY in January announced the addition of drummer Morten L�we S�rensen (THE ARCANE ORDER, SUBMISSION, SLUGS) to the group's ranks. The band has also revealed that all lead vocals going forward will be handled by MERCENARY bassist/vocalist Ren� Pedersen following the departure of singer Mikkel Sandager. The group says, "As everybody who has seen us live in the last couple of years is fully aware of, Ren� is a real powerhouse, and he has so much more under his belt than he got to display on the previous album."
