He was always just a session member anyway. Nobody expected him to be a permanent replacement for The Rev.

Portnoy's tone in the message kind of indicates that he'd started to wish for a longer relationship, but from the beginning this was always the stated intent. No surprises and no drama.

Maybe he ends up in Fates Warning - they've talked about releasing another album anyway. [wishful thinking, I know.... but if Mark Zonder's not interested then...]

Supposedly DT already has a drummer chosen, but they still haven't announced it.
Fates Warning would be cool - but very wishful thinking IMO.  (especially if Kevin Moore is involved)  |
