Dream Thearter - Images and Words
Andromeda - Extension of the Wish
Symphony X - Twilight in Olympus
Dream Theater - Scens from a Memory
Fates Warning - A Pleasant Shade of Grey

If you asked me tomorrow I'd probably have a different list, but 'Images and Words', 'Extension of the Wish' and something from Symphony X definitely belong in there.

Sieges Even is such an underrated band; The Art of navigating... was the first album I listened from SE, 4 years ago, it was a jaw dropping musical experience back then. Still is. Smile

Here's my damn cheatin' list:

1. Iron Maiden: Most of their discography (except "Fear of the Dark, "The X-Factor", "Virtual XI", and "The Final Frontier"
2. Death: "Symbolic"
3. Judas Priest: "Painkiller" & "Turbo"
4.  Megadeth: "Rust in Peace" & "Countdown to Extinction"
5. Metallica: "Master of Puppets" & "...And Justice for All"

(apart from number one, it's pretty much random, as because I have so many favorite albums.... I'd probably have to do an unranked top 100 to give a more precise picture).

I like seeing that album getting some recognition :-)

Yeah, those albums are awesome, too - especially "Scenes from a Memory"; my favorite tracks on that one is "Fatal Tragedy" with its shrink 'n' grow section.

"Images and Word" is another favorite of mine. "Seventh Son...", like most other Maiden albums, is an important part of my life, and "Symbolic" is the work of a genious.

Accept - Russian Roulette

The epitome of heavy metal!

"Kill 'em All" certainly is one of the most important, if not the most important, thrash metal releases ever. And, it's nice to see "Ram It Down" receive a bit of appreciation (it's not my own personal favorite by Priest, but I do think that it's a bit underrated).

Lot of classics on that one. I personally love "Sweet Leaf" and "Children of the Grave".

Or "Killing Machine" in Europe. And, yes, this is another absolute classic with some friggin' gerat stuff on it... funnily enough, my favorite is the more commercial "Evening Star", because it's got a terribly catchy chorus.

Originally posted by AtomicCrimsonRush AtomicCrimsonRush wrote:

1 Walls of Jericho - Helloween
2 Black Clouds and Silver... or Scenes from a Memory - Dream Theater
3 Damnation - Opeth (not metal but brilliant from a metal group)
4 Into the Everflow - Psychotic Waltz

They're all awesome albums. I prefer "Keeper... I & II" to "Walls of Jericho", but there certainly is a lot of good stuff on "Walls..." once one gets used to Kai's weird voice. I agree on your assessment of "Damnation"

Originally posted by TinoBambino TinoBambino wrote:

Judas Priest - British Steel
...
Mercyful Fate - Don't Break the Oath

Two classics (well a super classic and a cult classic) from legendary bands. "British Steel" is, of course, a milestone in metal music.

Originally posted by rushfan4 rushfan4 wrote:

4. Twisted Sister - Stay Hungry
5. Queensryche - Operation: Mindcrime

Heh, yeah "Stay Hungry" contains two of the best youth rebellion anthems ever, but the other more obscure songs on the album are pretty good, too. "Operation: Mindcrime" is great, and I listen to it quite often. I love Geoff Tate's performance on this record.

Originally posted by UMUR UMUR wrote:

Atheist - Unquestionable Presence

King Diamond - Abigail

Two unquestionable masterpieces ;-)

Toxicity - System of a Down

Individual Thought Patterns - Death

I quite like "Toxicity", too, and "Individual Thought Patterns" is one of my own favorites... but I'm such a Death fanboy anyway.

Because I don't want to be excessive and putting 5 albums of Opeth,I write albums and from other bands that I love.
Well,Opeth - Still life,Agalloch - The mantle,Enslaved - Vertebrae(I think),Isis - In the absence of truth and Katatonia - Brave murder day

Inexistence is the true normality.
