I noticed they're not here and I think they're suitable. Their debut album, Sea Shanties sounds very heavy, akin to Black Sabbath, and was released a year before Sabbs' debut! I can provide the album if needed but I'm sure that the Proto-Metal Team members know it well enough.

I do indeed. I have both Sea Shanties and their self-titled second album (and love both of them - you can read my reviews of them on PA if you like), but I am not so sure about the 'proto-metal' tag. You know, I am wary of repeating any of the mistakes made on PA, and for this reason I and the others (M@x included) to put on hold any addition of bands that do not have at least a 'popular' connection with the genre (like Led Zeppelin and Deep Purple). Personally, I would be in favour of a Hard Rock category for all those bands, but I also think it's too early for that.
