Ps: I read that cited the cover of Metallica's Load. The cover of "Load" (Metallica) is a composite photo of bovine blood and semen, entitled "Semen and Blood III", 1990, the artist Andres Serrano. Already the cover of "Reload", created by the same artist, is made up of blood and urine.

Sorry Mastodon, love this album, but the cover makes me feel like I took a big dose of LSD.

Picking just three is pretty hard...I mean you have the early ones by Riot and the later CG ones by Helloween. Not sure what else.

It's a pretty good raw thrash album though.

An EP, but still... oh well. It's pretty good too.

Could of course also be the best metal album cover ever. It's a fine line indeed.

You're right, that Violent Playground cover is indeed the best metal album cover ever!

^Artistically it's great, just a bit too 'loud' for my tastes though. LOL

^ I think the problem with it is there's too much going on. Sort of reminds me of why I don't like the album cover for Dance of Death.

Jeez guys, metal and 80s pop must be the genres with the biggest number of horribly bad cover arts in music history. How the fuck am I supposed to pick just three ?

From what I've read, I think it actually was. For whatever reason Maiden wanted the unfinished version.

In all fairness, it's probably to be understood in the context of some aspect of Japanese culture that we, or at least I, don't understand.

That doesn't excuse it from being one of the worst covers ever.

What are you talking about? Looks great, total 80s wtf but also very well drawn, as opposed to many classics which look like they've been drawn by a 6 year old with parkinsons.
