Guitar for 23 years I think.
Bass for about 12 years serious enough to perform.
Keys enough to play pads and basic stuff.
Vocals starting from absolutely nothing about 18 years ago...I'm a passable 2nd / backup singer now.

Electric guitarist first and foremost.
Electric Bass as a close second.

I noodle around on acoustic guitar, but I'm not particularly proficient at it really.
Plan on possibly picking up vocal abilities later too

Piano for about 8 years, guitar for about 6 months now, acquired an acoustic guitar about 2 weeks ago. I'm absolutely horrible at guitar, though.

drums - i do not own a kit but i sometimes jam around with my friends who all are very musically gifted
guitar (i have a crappy japanese off-brand guitar that my uncle owned in the 70s, but i guess it counts), i have been playing quite passively for about 1 year, and still suck.

also i make kinda experimental ambient/drone music using various sound sources and then processing them. haven't yet got a myspace or something, maybe sometime in the future...

I've been playing piano for about 12 years, but I'm still not all that good.

I've been playing percussion for about 7 and I love it. Best section ever.
Lost respect for these archives when I saw Creed added, among other bands. Not going to be foruming here anymore. You can keep my reviews if you want.

I've played a bit of guitar for 20 years now, picked up the bass 4 years ago. In between, I have 10 years worth of piano lessons, and 6 months ago I started singing. None of this in a metal context though.

I play the guitar - 18 years now - I also know my way around a drum kit (but I'm by no means a drummer) and I can play the bass too. I'm in a blackened death thrash metal band, a melodeath project, a couple of prog metal and prog rock projects.

Ahh, maybe you'll post some links up so we can check those bands out! Spread the word, bother.

We're recording some tracks in the blackened death thrash band, Grimmthurs, these days (they also have a couple of tracks out on some compilation discs from before I joined them). The other projects are still at, hmmm, project state, although I've written some material for the melodeath-thing (I just have to find some musicians... and some time; I've found a vocalist though). I did play the guitar in a thrash band called Erector back in the day. We recorded a demo (which I haven't heard in, like, 10 years and I just can't find a copy of it anywhere), and we had one track on the "f**k You, We're From Denmark, vol 4" compilation (yup, the one that sucked, but at least our track was not bad for a bunch of teens).

Keyboard for about three-four years. I didn't take any classes, I'm a self-taught player.
Currently my band broke up, but it's not sad actually - the guitarist was really mad! Now I'm working on some new songs and I plan to start a new band in a few months. I compose instrumental metal tracks with some progressive influences. Wish me luck! Rawks

Guitars for 12 years now and Keyboards for 10... Also, I know to play bass and do it eventually... now I'm focussing in drum proggraming and layering with keyboards...

I've been playing keys for 12 years (I'm now at concert pianist level YAY), guitar for 4-5 years and drums for 3. I'm learning bass and sitar at the moment (god's honest truth, coolest instrument out there).

Drums, and I also pretend to play guitar and piano. I'm not so good at the latter two, but am quite proficient at the former LOL
