Today I saw these two films:
Easy Street (1917) Observe and Report (2009) Easy Street was a decent little Chaplin short, but not one of the best ones I've seen from him. Still had some cool stuff in it, though. Observe and Report is a movie I remember seeing a few years ago with a buddy of mine and enjoying the hell out of it, and I still enjoyed it on a second viewing. It's not an amazing comedy and it has a few dull parts, but its grotesque dark comedy overtones can be extremely entertaining! |

The Amazing Spider Man (2012) I saw this yesterday with my girlfriend. Meh. It was competent, but not all that interesting. I remember liking the other trilogy more. |

Watched Django Unchained.
A good western film with a modern twist. Christoph Waltz brought the funny.

I watched this horror-comedy flick earlier this evening:
Tucker and Dale Vs. Evil (2010) A surprisingly very good film. There are quite a few funny bits, solid character development, and brilliant references to classic horror movies. The scene where they parody The Texas Chainsaw Massacre is particularly cool! |

The name of the image is totalrecallartworkpic1.jpg, so I assume it's Total Recall, but the site doesn't allow the hotlinking of images.

I saw these two films recently:
The Immigrant (1917) Rebel Without a Cause (1955) Both are excellent films. Such a shame that James Dean died at a very young age - he was a great actor! |

Watching Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter atm.
I thought it was going to be very cheesy and 'B' grade, but surprisingly I'm enjoying it quite a bit. Very well done, imo.

I forgot to make a post about this one that I saw a few days ago:
Apartment 143 [Emergo] (2011) Meh. It had some cool scenes, but it felt way too much like a Paranormal Activity clone to me - and I'm not much of a fan of those movies either. The climatic and explosive scenes are genuinely compelling and the character development is decent, but some of the acting is awkward and the dialogue can become uninteresting. If you like 'found-footage' styled horror, you might enjoy this one, though. |
