Another Christmas comedy I'd never seen before. Not Bill Murray's best, but there's a great supporting cast - Robert Mitchum, John Houseman, Bobcat Goldthwaite, Carol Kane, Nancy Allen...

I found it a bit of a drag to be honest.

I'd not seen this one from the Disney main animated canon before. It was quite a lot of fun.

The TV movie finale of the sitcom Plebs. A lot of crazy fun, as usual and a good ending to the show.

Brilliant 2022 horror movie.

It could easily be argued that Charlie Chaplin was the best at slapstick comedy in the silent era, but no one did stunt comedy like Harold Lloyd. For someone like me with a fear if heights there are a few really anxious moments watching this.

Not an easy watch. I was thinking it was a bit pointless and just disturbing and violent for the sheer hell of it until I discovered Darren Aronofsky's intention and suddenly it made perfect sense.

About as throwaway in terms of the MCU as you'd expect, but quite a lot of fun.

Harold Lloyd is excellent. All the more amazing he did those stunts as I believe he blew half of one of his hands off in an accident on set. Buster Keaton is another great and favourite of mine of the silent era that did his own stunts.

As dumb and fun as you'd expect, nothing more, and possibly a bit less. Loved the Comic Con scenes.

As a long time Tom and Jerry fan I really wish this was better, but it's kinda poor. Too much story about the live action humans detracts from the cat and mouse antics we're here for.

Now THAT'S how you tell this story. Quite short so there's no messing around, this just sticks to the bare bones of the Dickens classic, and it's all the better for it. The ghost effects are pretty good. And Terry Kilburn who played Tiny Tim (coincidentally looks a lot like my nephew) is still alive, now aged 96.

References a shitload of 70s sci-fi which is really cool, but the story is a bit lame. Was filmed quite some time ago, but only released in this version this year

Now THAT is how you tell a Terry Pratchett story. Great voice cast, excellent animation, and stick to the spirit if not the exact letter of the story. GNU Terry Pratchett.

Fucking brilliant. Imagine if Smokey and The Bandit was actually funny and made on a shoestring budget in New Zealand. Sadly one of the stars Tony Barry died last week, which is why I was giving this a rewatch. Also, this was the shortened version with about 10 minutes cut out by the BBFC.

More Geoff Murphy brilliance. A hell of a good story, covering a part of our history which too often gets whitewashed. There's no punches pulled here. Brutal and filthy, just like 19th century life was in such a wild untamed country.

A bit slow, but a great western. Clint Eastwood didn't want to do the movie because he didn't want to get typecast, but Charles Bronson was an excellent replacement.

This one was funny and sweet. Even my wife liked it, and she hates superhero movies.

This was pretty good. It's one of those films that completely changes genre a little way in. It starts off with an American tourist running afoul of a biker gang while holidaying in England, then later abruptly turns into sci-fi horror.

A rather bleak police film that's very slice of life in its telling. The ending is a massive downer.

Inspired by an actual event, this is a psych drama about a group of men trapped underground during WWII. A very little known film but with some notable cast members led by Peter Sellers.

A really solid 1950s Vincent Price film.

This one was really good: very dark and twisted for a 1950s film.

This completely holds up to Knives Out.

Excellent little bank robbery thriller.

A bit farcical, but a fun enough little western that ends more darkly than you'd expect. The film is perhaps more historic behind the scenes than it is a particularly great movie: it was the final feature film directed by Budd Boetticher as well as the final film appearance of Audie Murphy. The former made the film as a favour to Murphy, who produced it and only has a cameo role in it as Jesse James. It never saw wide release until 1982, having been made in 1969. Murphy died in a plane crash in 1971.

Low key and quirky, but the music is good fun.

Not seen this in a long time. Excellent ensemble cast, and a silly but fun plot. Never takes itself too seriously.

This was great! Daniel Craig's southern accent isn't quite convincing, but everything else is brilliant.

Why the fuck did I watch this? Nothing wrong with the movie, it's just the subject matter...
