the Brave One (2007) - starring Jodie Foster; good movie, rather predictable at times though. It's worth a watch because of Foster's acting which is excellent IMO.

I watched "Sherlock Holmes" last night, half thinking it wasn't going to be any good but found myself liking it a lot, to my surprise.

Even the missus liked it! LOL

I've been watching a bunch of films lately.  This week I took 3 movies out of the library:
- Papillon
- Cigarettes and Coffee
- Brazil

They were all pretty enjoyable.  Papillon was a bit slow at times, but still a good watch.  My brother recently picked up The Godfather trilogy, so we're going to watch the 1st one tonight.  This may be strange for a guy who has been on this earth for 25 years, but I've never even seen The Godfather (any of them).

No Godfather??? Yep Dan that is strangeBig smile.

Ive seen Papillon a number of times. Great movie. I kind of enjoy the slow tempo. The fate of Papillon is so cruel.

Saturday night I watched Barton Fink and Requiem of a Dream.  Barton Fink was brilliant, Requiem on the other hand was too upsetting for me to really enjoy

I've watched a few entertaining films this week: Big Fan (starring Patton Oswalt), and The Usual Suspects.  Tonight, I will watch The Deer Hunter.

I went to the library and grabbed 3 movies to watch this week: Midnight Cowboy, Patriot Games, and Robin Hood: Men in Tights.  Seems like a good variety.

Just saw this in the theaters:

It was mediocre at best and the awful religious messages brought it down even more. I enjoy Christianity-based movies sometimes, but the entire premise hear was just plain stupid. "These people are complete lunatics - therefore I can assume that they are possessed by Satan and I can just 'pray it away' ". Waste of my money for sure.

I'd say a 3.5/10

Saw this tonight:

Somewhat predictable, but an enjoyable (and irresistibly creepy) film. Probably a 7/10.

Watched Salt and The American

salt was ok, had the whole neo-coldwar ish vibe to it, but the performances of the actors was lacking.

the american could have been an excellent movie, but the characters back-story was unclear, and the plot wasn't very appealing.

not really fond of either of them.
