Silent Running (1972)...meh pretty bad sci-fi

Soylent Green (1973). I liked the idea, but the acting and the effects, not so much.

^I´ve seen it once many years ago, and I thought it was pretty great.

Watched Stake Lands II (The Stakelander) yesterday. I like the post-apocalyptic feel of the Stakelander movies, but it´s a pretty shallow story featuring some pretty stupid people, who would probably not survive five minutes IRL if a vampire apocalypse should happen.

I thought this was great. Rather criminally unknown too.

Trey Parker/Matt Stone idiocy at it's best.

Banned in Britain! Well, for a while anyway... This American-made movie is set in what was primarily a British theatre, which upset British veterans of the Burma campaign. Anyway, Errol Flynn, parachutes, machine guns, and blowing up a radar station all equate to a very good, slightly gung-ho war movie.

Not near as much fun as the title would suggest. 80s teen wank material. The Imp is kind of cool though.

One of the greatest of his generation IMO, yet he has starred in relatively few movies.

The best and the best known of the early 70s US road movies. Lots of fast cars, a nude motorcyclist, and a shocking ending. Also has Cleavon Little as a blind radio DJ.

It must be hard work being Daniel Day Lewis, so it's no wonder he's retired from acting. Everything went into the part of Daniel Plainview, which makes him such a compelling bastard of a character.

Amazing battle scenes, some of the best flying ever, and... the main character is a bit of a cunt so it's hard to feel much for him one way or the other. Still worth a look, but could have been better with a stronger story.

Really fucking good. I always wondered why this was so highly rated but I didn't really know it. Now I do. Some might have spotted the ending coming, but I didn't.

OK, a bit weird. An anti-war movie with a touch of Catch-22 or M.A.S.H. and a bit of art history thrown in.

Seen it before, in the past couple of years, but it deserves a rewatch.

Top Gun: Maverick, highly recommend it. I decided to watch it based on reviews and this is the case when reviews are true. So if you are looking for something interesting to watch, pay attention to this movie. Besides, it's available in many streaming apps (the best one you can find here https://www.firestickhow.com/best-kodi-builds.html). Share your thoughts after, I am curious.

Some great over the top Wuxia action, but unfortunately soon after the half way mark the movie warps into a tragic love triangle and never resolves the story you spent the first hour getting invested in. Ultimately frustrating.

Based on actual events but highly embellished or just plain made up most of the time, but it's a damn fine feel good movie. Featuring an appearance by Def Leppard.

Classic road movie with very little plot and a strange conclusion, but worth a watch. James Taylor and Dennis Wilson (the Beach Boy) in their only movie roles are excellent at laconic and laid back.
