Discuss and/ or list any of your favourite metal songs here and see if you have common ground with others and myself. (I don't think this has been done before...)

Blackened Are the Priests by Venom has long been a favourite in this household when the grandkids come over.

Of evil

I just got blown away listening to the live version of "The Nightcomers" on Holocaust's live album "Hot Curry and Wine". It's one of those I didn't really listen to back in the day, because it's just noise.

And that is exactly why I like it now.

It's pure Heavy Metal NOIZE - a bit like some of the stuff Cliff Burton did with Trauma before he joined Metallica.

Awesome, scary and kickass!

The Forest Whispers My Name, Cradle of Filth.

Despised by many for being too commercial, I can take or leave CoF, but this track is a winner for me.  Epic, with just the right level of bombast and a kick ass opening riff.

Mourning Palace, Dimmu Borgir.

The same accusations are pointed at these guys as The Filth, sometimes fairly, though this is a majestic slice of symphonic black metal with a truly haunting quality.  Excellent.  In fact, I have to say I have a soft spot for the whole Enthrone Darkness Triumphant album.

Fearless Undead Machines, Deceased

Rollicking good death laced thrash metal, with more than a touch of old school heavy metal thrown in for good measure, these guys know a thing or two about zombie movies, and they're not afraid to share their knowledge.

Donar's Oak, Falkenbach

Epic blackened Viking metal is what we have here, and a better example of it you'll be hard pushed to find.

Lashed to the Slave Stick, NIle

Ripping the lead line straight from the incidental music to the movie Cat's Eye, this is crushingly heavy and punishingly brooding.  It's the slow bits that make NIle great, after all.

My list is probably pretty commercial and mostly from the 80's but let me see what I can come up with:

Rock You Like A Hurricane - Scorpions
Breaking The Law - Judas Priest
For Whom The Bell Tolls - Metallica
Photograph - Def Leppard
Run To The Hills - Iron Maiden
Panama - Van Halen
I Wanna Rock - Twisted Sister
Looks That Kill - Motley Crue
I Am The Law - Anthrax
Bang Your Head - Quiet Riot
Welcome to the Jungle - Guns and Roses
Centre of Eternity - Ozzy Osbourne
Rainbow In The Dark - Dio
Peace Sells - Megadeth

I am leaving out many that will come to mind later but that is a good start.
