Shit! I'm not much of a Lamb of God fan, but that really sucks! Shocked Hopefully this gets cleared up if it's not truly his fault.

My brother told me about this story last night, and from what he mentioned it sounded odd and unfortunate.  I'm going to do a bit more research right now.

I looked and there are videos of that show, but no "physical altercation" found from my search.  Probably one of the fans being kicked off the stage, bands do that all the time.  If there was an actual fight between Randy and a fan, I'm sure there would be videos of that.

More than one eyewitness seem to remember Randy kicking a young guy who was trying to get on stage. The guy fell to the concrete floor, head firstConfused

If anyone's to be held responsible for the death of that guy, it should be the security people at the venue. It's their job to keep people off the stage.

After spending the last two days looking for news about this, I have the following questions about this:

1. Exactly why are we knowing about this only now? An event like this would - at the very least - lead to rumours on underground metal blogs. From then to a major scandal on the specialist press it'd be a matter of time. Doesn't quite add up. There are people now who are coming out as witnesses, saying that Blythe did this and that, yet this is the first time we hear something like this. Were they afraid to speak?

2. Even if the guy wasn't dead in the venue, why wasn't Blythe arrested with assault when leaving the venue? I suppose that going violent on someone (as described) is indeed criminal behaviour in Czech Republic. It is in Portugal, it is in the US, why shouldn't it be there too?

3. Why is "evidence" of the event (e.g. the picture of Blythe holding the fan, the show reviews that mention him kicking people out of the stage) only surfacing now? Why didn't we know that two days ago or when the event happened? It makes absolutely no sense if the information was there.

Don't get me wrong. Although I'm not shy on being a LoG fan, I am not taking any kind of judgement here. What happens is that there's so much here that doesn't make sense, so much that doesn't add up, that it makes no sense to charge him of anything. The information is so blurry and fishy and its appearing was so sudden that it leaves too many questions unanswered.
I do believe that he may end up in jail though. Remember Limp Bizkit and the 1999 Woodstock? Durst was indirectly responsible for a massive wave of violent behaviour (which resulted in at least four rapes). Was he charged? No. He was just accused of irresponsible behaviour. Of course one can agree that Blythe (supposedly) went physical at the dude, while Durst was verbal with the audience, which ended up by being the direct guilty party. However the ammount of damage Durst caused indirectly can be compared to what Blythe indirectly did. The problem is the same: the mainstream media opinion on metal isn't exactly warm, and many will consider Blythe to be an evil dangerous psychotic devil worshipper - including probably the judge (he was wearing an Obituary shirt at time of arrest). Basically, he's a popular pet devil for many members of the mainstream (and don't forget that plenty of lawyers and judges have political aspirations, they must please people). Which is why I'm being rather pessimist here. Just saying.
Why is six afraid of seven? Because seven ate nine.

More footage: http://loudwire.com/additional-footage-alleged-randy-blythe-incident-shows-revealing-angles/

The consequence of this whole thing will probably be that, thanks to the fucked-up Czech so-called justice system, bands won't go and play in that country anymore. To me it looks like a lame attempt to milk some money out of a big American superstar into the Czech economy. If the footage on Loudwire really depicts the incident(s) in question, then the Czech really don't have any case against Randy Blythe at all, as the fan jumped off stage on his own one time and stage security guards threw him off stage the two other times.

From that clip, it appears that its only the third time that the fan climbs onstage that Randy takes a hold of him and only very shortly. He is clearly being pushed off stage by a security guard. The other two times Randy isnt near him when he flies off stage. Which of the times is the fatal one?

...Ive seen scenes like these at countless shows, and very seldom are people hurt beyond bruises and at the rare occasion broken bones. He must have fallen to the concrete floor in a really unfortunate way.

...the witneses say that they saw Randy kick the fan off the stage. If anyone has a clip of that Id like to see it?

I think these are the only times the fans in question was on stage.

If that is really it, I dont see them having a case against Randy. If this is really it, his arrest is a disgraceGeek.

I am sure this is going to have very negative consequences for the metal community in the Czech Republic. Like I said, I am sure that a lot of bands will stop doing gigs there, because who wants to risk being arrested for the failures of stage security?

I wouldn't call Blythe "a big American superstar" (95% of the world population hasn't heard of him), and from what I know money can't be the big factor here. Plus, the Czech economy is doing okay, that doesn't make sense.

Most likely, the venue owners knew that they would risk being in jail if it was discovered that they had been indirectly responsible for the guy's death, so they used Blythe as a scapegoat (which is ironic if you think of the origins of the term "lamb of God" LOL). That would also explain why the injury wasn't immediately reported: it'd be easier for the owners to cover up what happened.

I was being ironic, trying to poke fun at the Czech so-called justice system. I should perhaps have indicated this.

Randy Blythe was acquitted yesterday in this case but the prosecution has appealed.  http://www.latimes.com/entertainment/music/posts/la-et-ms-lamb-of-god-randy-blythe-acquitted-in-fan-death-20130305,0,1577116.story
