Well, by looking at the genres that need the most people, I suppose I know the most about Black, power, and symph metal. I'd enjoy the Death or Avant team but those categories are more taken care of.

EDIT: Actually, I think I'd be good on the alternative metal team too if you'd need help there.

Hi [email protected], behind micky's hilarious banterLOL.... it is a tough job to get back on topic

you've proposed to me the proto and trad teams (the latter including NWBHM), and  to be honest, I can't see myself doing anything else to help out, but these two genres. Simply because I don't have the knowledge to do more than the first one and maybe the second ( difficult for me, beyond a few bands)

Maybe if Lucas' idea of Alt/Funk metal (see the Living Colour suggestion thread) comes through.....

IF I am to get involved , I don't want to be the team leader and certainly don't want a "specialist tag" on my profile

So, not that I have the time for it..... but IF no-one else applies to proto.... then yes ,  I can help out

But  IF there are sufficient amount of other "applicants" and more motivated than meLOL, then there is no problem... I'd just act as a normal member

Avec autant de "si", on met Paris en bouteille, hein!! LOL

With so many "IFs", it becomes easy to fit Paris in a shoebox.

I'm the only collab on the doom metal team, and my knowledge of the genre is somewhat limited, so I'd love to have you on the team if you'd be interested/its alright by the other members of the site...

Sean Trane, you could give some tips and select albums and transfer them to PROTO and be on the team too.

And suggest some artists.

That would be great, since Raff and me can handle some manual jobs and other site admins also.

So ?

I don't know if I have time to be a total team member, but if you are looking for someone to offer suggestions and advice for hardcore/metal thrash crossover bands, I know the early scene very well, both as a participant and a fan.

.... for Stephen, we will keep the sub-genres related to GLAM as is because we don't want to go to large and try to focus on the metal movement.

But I understand that some album (softer) might be a fit in the PROTO METAL , you might want to suggest them for analysis ?!

If you are not sure about your availability , you can start only by contributing sporadically with :

- adding online videos
- fixing discos and adding missing albums
- suggest new bands in the forum (suggest a band) zone
- rate and reviews
- shouts

If you feel like joining (formal) with more access , please ask for it.

Enjoy MMA

Heya I'm a prog reviewer on PA http://www.progarchives.com/Collaborators.asp?id=4553 and I would say I'm just as interested if not more interested in metal.

I also have a music blog (that needs updating): http://mindjamsblog.blogspot.com/ (apologies for copyrighted content, let me know if that's not kosher).

Instead of listing all the stuff I listen to I'd be better off directing you here: http://www.last.fm/user/QueefKing

I'm mostly into extreme metal and I would say I 'specialize' in death, thrash/crossover and grind of which I have thousands of releases but I also listen to a lot of prog (obviously), post/sludge, black, stoner, a bit of doom and the occasional bit of 80's traditional cheese.

Aaaand here's another link while we're at it: http://rateyourmusic.com/~Giblodyte

Most importantly If anyone questions my music nerdiness I can upload a newspaper snippet about my music nerdiness to confirm that in fact I am indeed a dedicated music nerd.

I'll get onto some reviews though so I can give the application some weight. I take it that it's fine if I copy some of my reviews over from PA?

hi max

i say keeping glam metal as it is for now is enough, but maybe later when the database grows, i know that more than 1000+ bands will fit into pop-metal category rather than glam metal because it's obviously softer except we won't include the AOR/melodic rock bands, but I see that we already have bands like Bad English, Boulevard, Giant, etc.

And I think Proto-Metal probably fits with the early years band, coming from 60-70s rather than the 80-90s,
so Journey, Styx, Foreigner, probably fits that category, but it's just my opinion :)

Yes, it's even recommended, so that we get more ratings/reviews and thus we can get charts here later! Thumbs Up

Please, feel free to post your reviews here! We have all been doing the same since the site started its activity. I remember reading some of your reviews at PA, and think they will be a big asset for MMASmile.
