According to DigitalDreamDoor. Can't say I agree with that list at all.

Venom, King Diamond, Mercyful Fate, and Tiamat (just looking at Wildhoney here) aren't even black or death metal.

9 Albums of Venom? They're good, but not that good.

How is Altars of Madness not even on that list? It's not really an all-time favourite of mine, but because of it's influence alone, it's should at least be in the top 3 or 5.

Yeah I agree. A really influential album. Lists like that are stupid anyway, unless you have a lot of people voting and then again its only the most popular albums that will make such a list, not necessarily the best ones. I use lists as guides but not as the written truth.

Because people are ignorant.  You see lists like this all the time, like that one which included Fred Durst in the "Top 100 Heavy Metal Vocalists of All Time".  This is the same sort of thing except with subgenres; people assume metal, heavy metal, black metal, death metal, etc. are all the same thing.  Same principle as people dismissing bands like Iron Maiden as "noise" because they're classified as metal.  Just another day on the Internet!

That list has to be THE stupidest thing ever.  Mayhem is only mentioned once (and in the live section!) and Burzum and Darkthrone aren't even mentioned.  Stupidity at it's highest level.
