We were bored at work today and my friend asked me to list my top 10 metal albums. This is what I came up with after a moment of thought:

1. System of a Down - Mezmerize
2. Metallica - Master of Puppets
3. Opeth - Blackwater Park
4. Mastodon - Crack the Skye
5. Tool - Lateralus
6. Kayo Dot - Choirs of the Eye
7. Type O Negative - Life is Killing Me
8. Iron Maiden - Seventh Son of a Seventh Son
9. Metallica - ...And Justice for All
10. Dream Theater - Images and Words

^^^^^^^^

I deliberately avoided Zep, Aerosmith, Purple & Heep, because they're not really that metal

BTW, I noticed that the first six in my list are either the debut or the sophomore album in the group's discography.

my music collection increased tenfolds when I switched from drug-addicted musicians to crazy ones....

in no particular order (but if I was to take 10 albums on a desert island at this point in my life, they would not be metal albums)

Sad Wings Of Destiny
Rainbow Rising
Paranoid
Van Halen (deb)
Iron Maiden (deb)
Hard & Heavy (Anvil)
Secret Treaties
What's Next (Mahogany Rush)
A Farewell To Kings
Rage Against The Machine (deb)

and an unlikely one for those who know me)
Kill The Lights (Lowercase)

I'm not familiar with The Sweet, but it sounds as though I need to investigate them.

VH1's Metal Mania is playing the video to Rock You Like A Hurricane from the Scorpions.  I think that that album should be on my iPod too.
