Interesting. I don't think it's too much of a departure from what they've already done.

Pretty much sounds like a track off Blackwater Park with the distortion turned down and the vocals all clean.

Its really got that Post-Prog feel that kids just grow to love . . . Actually all the Death Metal kids will hate it. But I'm liking it so far . |

I have to agree it's not as big as a departure as the descriptions have led me to believe. Nonetheless, it sounds rather like Opeth playing a Black Sabbath song.

Lost respect for these archives when I saw Creed added, among other bands. Not going to be foruming here anymore. You can keep my reviews if you want.

Finally have heard this release all my buds have been talking about.
I liked it Also glad to know I was right people were expecting a completely mellow album, that song was still "heavy" in the 70s way and the guitar work was clearly Opeth. I approve! |

Interesting. What did Opeth fans think of Damnation back then? |

I'm loving the fusion vibes, the 70s crunch and the unabashed virtuosity of it. Fuck the haters, Mikael obviously wanted to do this, therefore it's his heart an soul.
