Me too.

I quite like Jugulator, however I've not been able to really get into Demolition. Granted I own the former but not the latter thus have spent more time with it.

Unpopular opinion 5: It's okay to like glam AND thrash metal.

Probably not un unpopular opinion here since we're an open-minded bunch, but for the wider metal world I'll second that one. That said, never have been grabbed by glam metal myself.

Same. Tried a couple of times, with each vocalist. Never really dug them.

Wasn't Manowar always a bit of a joke? Wink

Quite right.

It was my gateway to metal album, so I'll always have a fondness for it. And no it really isn't that bad, but it does have some glaring problems.

I think I'd agree, though I have a special liking for Leprosy. It was also the first straight death metal album I bought.

Fuck those assholes!

Agreed, but I think overall metal is very accepting. Don't forget that the singer of one of metal's most famous bands just happens to be gay. I also know of quite a few bands with black members, or trans people and there are more women playing (and into) metal than ever.

Preaching to the choir on this site, Kim. I'm not sure gothic metal has ever been up for debate the way those others have though.

I'm quite neglectful where Sabbath is concerned. I haven't even heard all the Ozzy or Dio fronted ones. Never a Martin one. However he has worked with Arjen Lucassen a couple of times and he's good.

I'm adding a couple of mine from when this thread was first active:

Building off one of Kim's: Tim Owens was a fine singer for Iced Earth, just very different to Matt Barlow. That wasn't necessarily a bad thing. Also one of the worst things Iced Earth ever did was swapping singer back to Barlow in the middle of the Something Wicked duo, especially since they never made good on re-doing part 1 with Matt for continuity. But the first one was better anyway, so maybe that's just as well.

There are more fantastic female singers in modern metal bands than there are male.
