I like Agalloch (Marrow of the Spirit and The Mantle kick my ass), WITTR and some Drudkh.

Alcest, Agalloch, Drudkh, Old Silver Key and all the rest make me a happy metal hipster.

hehe. yeah but I'm not really that into burzum!
But check them out, i'm really in love with Sterbend.
if you're interested i have more of this kind of music just saying ;)!

I've downloaded the album, and I'll take a listen (and do a review) when the time presents itself. Big smile

And, of course, I have no idea what the rest of the album is like, but that one track brought a bit of Burzum to mind. I'm not the biggest fan of some of his albums (Filosofem still hasn't struck me as anything too special); some of Varg's works are among my favorites, though. I absolutely worship Hvis Lyset Tar Oss. Headbanger

Congratulations! I know them. Very good band. But I hadn't added them yet because I didn't know if they fit here. Because sometimes they are more shoegaze/post rock than black metal.

I just added the following artist.  His music is a blend of black metal and post rock / shoegaze. http://www.metalmusicarchives.com/hypomanie.aspx

Epic bump to proclaim that this song is the best song this band has ever made.  Do not argue against this statement.

I've listened to the new Alcest album which was excellent.  Other than that though, I'm not very familiar with the genre, but I'm a big post-rock fan.

Besides their first album I'd drop the BM tag entirely and settle with avant-garde metal.

do I smell sarcasme or am I just alitle paranoide, Embarrassed,
I said I was not sure and I just threw in a band I though was doing other things than straight out  pure black metal but were Norwegian (I am no expert on the genre but I know how the traditional and real black metal is watz kuul and those who try to do something new or add symph orchestra and synths are posers and such, but that is how i have seen it when i have hanged around BM fans), yes Arcturus are older but they dount sound like much other black metal from their time and they might have trigged a certain change in the BM comunity both nationaly and internationaly (in the BM marked),
