Please read before voting. You can vote for your top 3 Haken albums but you need to vote mutiple times. vote 3 times on your favourite, twice on your second choice and once on your third.

You need to vote 3 times for your favourite Adam, twice for your second choice and once for your third so you'll have cast 6 votes altogether.

Sorry Paul, mis-read your post. Fixed. Order is their release order for me. Aquarius gets a lot of bonus nostalgia points.

Interesting to see their first 3 albums seem to get the most love.

their early work will predictably have the most votes.
Chose only Affinity for now, let's see which of the early ones will get my vote after a bit of relistening. Nice to see a new poll here, it's been a while. I will do a couple of polls in the next couple of days, if you don't mind.

Well for me those are the ones I know best. Aquarius is arguably their technically least accomplished record, but as I said it gets a lot of nostalgia bonus points for me. I discovered Haken through that album and in some ways I still feel it their most unique sounding record. Visions, after Aquarius, I have always thought was perhaps much more generic prog metal sounding, but also perhaps the best progressive metal album that Dream Theater never made. And I loved it too. The Mountain I always felt was a bit of a step back (although many claim it as the best and I think I can hear why, but it's not an opinion I've ever been able to share), but it does have Cockroach King on it, which may just be my favourite individual Haken song. Also the video is brilliant. Affinity is also very good but I always feel that I've spent less time with that record than the earlier ones so my go to response to a question like this is to say the first three. Though according to my Last.fm stats that's not that true (76 plays for Affinity next to 82 for The Mountain) and apparently I've played 1985 more than any track from The Mountain including Cockroach King, so maybe I should have voted for way. But that wasn't my gut reaction to the question. Vector is again also very good but I haven't picked up a copy of it in all this time so my knowledge of it is two streams from Spotify. So due to lack of familiarity it doesn't get a look in. The same is even more true for Virus which is not only still too new but didn't resonate too much for me on first listen and I haven't been back to it for a second go yet. I will though. In fact I should get Haken into my Great Collection Rediscovery project sooner rather than later. I've been on a prog kick lately but somehow ignored them.

Just finishing Vector having started with the demo. Haven't got the EP or Virus yet, and haven't heard either. I'd actually move Visions above Vector if I had my vote again. I'd forgotten how darn good that album is.

Always found Affinity the least satisfying for some reason. The new one, Virus is very good (would have been my 4th choice) but hasn't hit me the way Vector did but I guess there's still time as it's new.

Okay, just been through those I own (except the CD-R demo) and I stand by my original votes.

Also I can't believe mine is the only review for Affinity. Surprising.
