This is the first one I've heard from them I'm not really digging the style of too much. It's okay I guess, but I can't see me being much inclined to revisit this one.

Guns N’ Roses - November Rain. That epic guitar solo gets me every time, it’s such a classic. I actually created a nostalgic rock playlist on Spotify recently, and this song is definitely the centerpiece. Yesterday I had a glitch with my account and ended up calling the Spotify phone number to sort it out. Thankfully, they fixed it quickly, and now I’m back to jamming out.

^Same, though I was distracted while lsitening. It does seem like possibly their best album sicne Ghost Reveries, though, and I'm glad the growls weren't just a one time thing, but are actually there quite often. It definitely feels like a combination of their old and new stuff, which is neat.

I've streamed it a couple of times. I wanted to wait for the CD but screw that with Amazon messing me around.
Only the test of time is going to tell where this ranks in their discography but I'm really digging it so far. While I've never completely stopped liking Opeth's prog rock period (waivered a little around Pale Communion which has since grown on me a lot!) this is more or less the sound Opeth is associated for, but without being a complete throwback and in some ways I think they've pushed the boat out a bit; some more experimental stuff in there, a good dose of symph prog too. Early impressions tell me they're not taking AotY from Blood Incantation though.
