The symphonic metal poll. Just to be clear, that means the RYM tag Symphonic Metal. The Symphonic Black Metal tag is uneffected by that one. Which actually creates a disjointed kind of list since symphonic death and power metal acts have to use two tags.

Personally I think Epica's The Holographic Principle should be up here but since it's not I'll have to settle for the almost as good Quantum Enigma. The lack of Xandria - Neverworld's End is also disappointing.

Apocalyptica's the only symphonic metal band I listen to, so considering that they aren't here, there's nothing for me to vote for here. LOL

This is a hard one. A lot of stuff here I'm much more comfortable calling power or death metal that just happens to be symphonic. Probably will go with Epica, though that Nightwish album is a surprising rival. Surprising because when it first came out I hated it and it took me over half the decade for it to click up to a five star.

I'll have to go for Wilderun here. Septicflesh are great too though strictly symphonic death metal of course.

The glory goes to Gloryhammer. The rest of the bands here take themselves too seriously.

^ Almost everyone takes themselves too seriously if you use Gloryhammer as a baseline. Wink

Voted Epica.
