I am looking for what you consider to be least metal moments from some notable metal artists (that may have even caused you to lose fanship for them for a moment).

Here are a few  of mine in my opinion off the top of my head:
Sharon Osbourne ordering egging of Iron Maiden at Ozzfest
Aerosmith doing Super Bowl Halftime show with NSync and Britney Spears
Metallica's legal battle with Napster

Anything Metallica did after the black album.
Anything Max Cavalera did after Chaos A.D.
Every year when Metal Grammy nominations come out.
Cryptopsy's The Unspoken King.
Any commercial Ozzy's been in.

EDIT: The day Glee covers a metal song will be the absolute low. Hopefully it never happens.

Lost respect for these archives when I saw Creed added, among other bands. Not going to be foruming here anymore. You can keep my reviews if you want.

AC/DC's "Love Song" on the original Australian issue of "High Voltage".

It all goes so well until about 1:15, then...

Fortunately they never committed such an atrocity again.

...although Bon Scott committed plenty of similar crimes against metal before that, with Fraternity and other bands (I'll stick to Fraternity for now - and I'm not saying the music is bad, necessarily, but it's the antithesis to metal to my ears);

Celtic Frost got quite some flak for "Cold Lake" and Megadeth for "Risk".
I still like both albums though.

"Cold Lake" is very metal. It's not thrash or avant-garde or anything like that, but, although the band sported a glam image, the music is not glam metal... it's more like traditional metal in a way. I certainly do not think that "Cold Lake" is a non-metal moment.

I actually like when bands go through different phases through their lives. This shows the band from different musical directions.
Every band has it's "Chameleon": Helloween have Chameleon, Kiss have The Musid of the Elder, while Stratovarius have their Black album. Chameleon and Stratovarius are still metal.

In case of Anathema, I even prefer their later stuff over their early gems.

What about Werk 80 by Atrocity?

I was pretty disappointed with Theatre of Tragedy, because I wished they continued with their Gothic Metal in the style of their first three albums. I lost interest with them after Aegis, but only for a while.

I wouldnt say theres no metal on "Host" but there are not that many distorted guitars on the album I agree with that. Strongly Depeche Mode influenced that one. Ive even lured a couple of Depeche Mode fans, who dont usually like metal, into liking that album. I like it too, even though its far from being my favorite by Paradise Lost.

That's a pretty good song - I've only seen the clip now.
