Your Top 2011 Albums

I'm finally hearing a few releases I'm anticipating, but still nothing that strikes me as a 5 star album (yet).  I'm better prepared for my list this year since I'm starting it earlier.  Every album I listen to in it's entirety goes on a list, and I'll shift the rankings as new ones impress me or old ones grow or fade on me.  Last year I wasn't too concerned with it until October/November.

Early days but have heard SOME EXCELENT MUSIC

My number one album of 2011 by default (it's the only one I have) is Crucified Mortal's self-titled album. Pretty old school thrashy type stuff. Cool beans.

haven't listened much to 2011, but so far it does seem like a great year! Magic Pie and Fen seem to be at the top of the list, but I'm not sure about the Fen's rating I should give yet, give me a few listens.

^ I enjoyed their previous album. I'll have to check this one out at some point.

The new Obscura album could now take the number 4 spot on my list.

Listened to that the other day, it is very good. Also the new Obscura album is pretty good, too.

Besides Fen, I've only heard one 2011 album: Grails "Deep Politics"
It's fantastic, not metal, but very dark psych/post-rock that might appeal to dark ambient metal fans (such as Fen )

The band was discovered by Michael Gira (Swans) by the way!
