This thread is dedicated to death and black metal bands which put strong emphasis on ambiance and concept. Recommendations of music in the vain of early Opeth, Agalloch etc. are welcome.

Black and death metal are not my thing, but i can recommend In the Woods (especially Omnio), Negura Bunget, the first two Evereve albums (gothic metal with death metal and a little black metal influences - on their second album Stormbirds).

Now I can go hide...

If you like Ambient without metal then I would recommend you Elend. I would call the Metal, but the Electric Guitar is replaced with an Electric Violin.

Maybe, you should try Siebenburgen. Try the song Vampyria or Thy Sister Thee Crimson Wed.

Try the following two songs from In the Woods...:
1. Heart of the Ages
2. Yearning for the Seed of a New Dimension (Listen to this song from beginning to the end. it begin very slowly, but it becomes a monster)

The Gathering - King of a Day from their debut full-length album Always

Atmospheric Death Metal: Haiduk (atmospheric melodic death metal), Tiamat - Clouds/Wildhoney

^,^^
Thanks for the suggestions goskoski. I know Tiamat, The Gathering and In the Woods..., but I'll check the rest.

I guess most of you know this band already because there were at least three 5 star reviews of their new album on our site. Nevertheless, here they are:

The best track in the album in my opinion. Masterpiece.
