MYTHOLOGICAL COLD TOWERS

Currently is the best doom metal band from Brazil!

Since I've been digging what I've heard of this genre, are there any drone doom bands besides Earth, Boris, and Sunn O))) that are worth hearing?

Ahab and Candlemass are at the top of the Doom pile for me but there are a lot of really solid bands out there.  Ereb Altor are good, they have some epic songs.

Recommend me some good funeral doom. Stuff that's pretty at points especially.

I'm not sure if it's considered funeral doom, but Draconian is a great atmospheric doom band with very haunting yet pretty vocals.

From their upcoming album:

If I say fuck two more times that's forty-six fucks in this fucked up rhyme

Disembowelment. They are crushingly heavy and atmospheric but also incorporate grind parts, which is quite unusual for the genre.

Would this fit? I become confused with all the genres and sub genres. Where would you categorise these?

That sounds more sludge than doom but there can be a certain amount of crossover between certain sub genres and that does have some doom elements at times.

Welcome to the forum by the way!

I liked it a lot, it's a very varied track with a bit of everything they do in it: a bit of doom, a bit of classic metal, and a bit of pysch and prog.

Yes it was good. I get the feeling that they are going to move away even more from the doom of the first album than the last one but we shall see.

They last album had non-doom dominant tracks like the title track, but I don't mind hearing something different from them like this.

Me neither but I hope they don't totally abandon doom.

The new Pallbearer has moved away to an extent from doom too. When i first started listening to it I was thinking this is going to have to be moved but then the doomier stuff crept in later.

I'm thinking that I need to get more acquainted with doom metal. Anyone feel like recommending me a few bands to try out?
