^ True, but I think it has enough of a metal taste to be called prog metal.

Considering he started out as just a prog musician, I can see some backlash here. "?", though, isn't really all metal, but merely half metal IMO. |

Yes. If a band has only one full-on metal album, we should add the artist with just that album (or albums) tagged as metal. The question is whether or not Neal Morse's metal-oriented albums are enough to warrant an inclusion here. I could see that addition taking a beating from a few metal purists, despite my support. |

I agree with Sola Scriptura and ?. But, is that enough to put him in? |

I support the addition of Neal Morse. The only album of his I'm really familiar with his Sola Scriptura, but that alone warrants his inclusion in my opinion. I've heard his others and although I'd have to listen to them again before I can really comment, I think that most if not all his 'prog rock' albums could be tagged as prog metal, from what I remember of them.

The CMX tagging is still a work in progress, some of their albums might belong in a metal category after all. Talvikuningas was the clearest case, but I'm going to have to listen to for example Isohaara with a metal ear to see if it should be moved too. Perhaps even Dinosaurus Stereophonicus. How well do you know their output? Discopolis might actually have a chance at industrial...

Look at CMX..... It's even worse there. I think Dinosaurus Stereophonicus is prog metal though, but still.

Oh boy... this is a toughie...
I considered discussing this a week ago when I listened to Sola Scriptura - basically a full-fledged prog metal album IMO. If we were to add him to MMA, I would only tag ?, Sola Scriptura, and maybe One as progressive metal, and the rest as non-metal. If we have Porcupine Tree in a similar situation, I think Neal Morse deserves the same treatment. |

The ex-lead singer of Spock's Beard and lead singer of Transatlantic has released both prog metal albums and christian rock albums (going along with his born again christain faith).
