Working on my first one, I'm hoping to review all 3 selections, especailly as it spills over into January.

Devil Electric looks good, yeah. Looks like another band along the lines of Blood Ceremony and Avatarium on their latest album, which I tend to like. Which gives me at least two albums to work with, which I'll either pick between or do both.
Also, do you have any deadline in mind for this? Because I want to get at least one more promo review before the years ends, so I wouldn't be putting any serious work on a challenge review for another week or so, at the very least.

I'll redraw you two different ones instead of Godflesh and Saturndust and put those two back in the pile. Devil Electric - Devil Electric Converge - The Dusk in Us Can't see you disliking the vocals on Devil Electric since they're all clean female singing. Converge I'm not so sure about.

After a brief sampling, I can confidently say Godflesh and Saturndust are both definitely out (I can't stand the vocals on either for more than a few seconds, lol) but Vinsta looks promising, so I can definitely review it. As I mentioned before, I'll also probably review one of my selections if they don't get used, which right now only Rage has been selected via randomizer.

Refer to the OP for a link to each album. If the trio randomly selected is that much to your dislike, you may request a re-draw. Okay we currently have a pool of 56 albums. I'd say that's enough to start drawing for people. Note that others can still sign up to this event.
Per the OP, I'm drawing three albums per person. It's up to you which one you pick to review or if you want to do more than one. I'll draw for myself last. Edited by adg211288 - 09 Dec 2017 at 12:33pm |

List updated. Got a good selection now but still some genre gaps. I'm guessing those genres are the less popular ones. I aim to turn up a few more for black metal and will maybe look into a few for the uncovered styles.

The album poll has been re-sorted by main sub-genre. Death Metal and Hard Rock and the best covered while some only have one or no suggestions.

RYM appears to have updated their 2017 chart so I'll have a scout about tomorrow and see if I can pick up on any missing 2017 albums, and add a few to the list.

Got a few I can think of. Grind, yes, but not the real hard to listen to shit, so don't freak. I'll check a few thrash entries too.

Okay here's some HR suggestions from this year's evaluations:
Dream Machine - The Illusion https://open.spotify.com/album/5bZs09jYWVbJIIlAIMpZLy They actually released two albums this year, the second only coming out on the 1st of this month. I'm throwing in the one I've heard though. No reviews so far. Kadavar - Rough Times https://open.spotify.com/album/7LrD0MzyaENB2F4XvxzGad One review by Kev Rowland so far. Hair of the Dog - This World Turns https://open.spotify.com/album/46NibmRvsWNILIlhgPmc14 No reviews yet. Royal Blood - How Did We Get So Dark? https://open.spotify.com/album/3Rz6kF8eGqrDOEteo5YsBj No reviews yet. |

I'm in.
As for album suggestions: Bare Infinity - The Butterfly Raiser (No reviews yet, and I'm the only one rating it. Is on Spotify, at least for me.) Keldian - Darkness and Light (No reviews yet, and it's on Spotify, at least for me.) Persefone - Aathma (Is on Spotify, at least for me, and I'm currently the only one reviewing it.) Rage - Seasons of the Black (No reviews yet, and I know for sure it's on Spotify, at least for me.) I'll stop there, to allow for more variety. I've actually come close to reviewing all three of those (aside from Persefone, which I did review) so I'd definitely be willing to do any of them as part of the challenge, as well as one other album, if no one else does them. |
