The only vocalists that I can think of that would fit Pantera almost as well as Anselmo are John Bush and Kate French. John Bush would particularly be awesome to hear sing some Pantera classics.

Nah, they could have carried on with almost any hardcore shouter, and they would have had a better deal than Anselmo. Even Billy Milano.

And so though Maiden and Priest. I'm glad they just ended it myself. Their last album was starting to veer into retread

Good points.Wink

  • Power metal in general is just a bit dull.
  • Pantera should have carried on without Phil Anselmo.
  • RATM might have been a bit different, but they were overhyped to high heaven.
  • Unplugged albums can just fuck off. If you're in a metal band, use your amps!
  • I can't really handle gigs any more, but I miss mosh pits.

One I forgot and just reminded myself of:

Nightfall in Middle-Earth is the weakest Blind Guardian album.

Powerslave is way overrated, my least favorite Iron Maiden 80's album.
Brave New World marks the beginning of the end of the band for me.

My corresponding reviews are on the site.

^ personally i don't understand why anyone gives a flying fuck about what music someone else likes. I read reviews to get insight into an album's contents and possible new perspectives that i have missed.

Vim, i totally agree with you about early Testament though. Yawn

One star? Maybe a bit harsh. An honest opinion? Priceless.

HammerFall's debut is NOT their best album! That would be Crimson Thunder.Wink Then again, I've yet to listen to their last 3 or 4 albums in depth so who knows!

Also, I hate Iron Maiden. That is all except for Somewhere in Time. Love that album to death. I always thought they were so stagnant and uncreative with each album.

I also dislike Avatarium, as some of you might have seen from my reviews. Although I planned on reviewing their new album, ever since the shitstorm that was caused from the GWTRM one I've really lost the passion to do so.

^ Whereas I'd say Piece of Time is as good as Unquestionable Presence (and vice versa).

Pretty basic, but I think Atheist's Piece of Time is a way better album than Unquestionable Presence.

However, I thought Keeper Part II was a pretty poor follow up and I have never understood why "II" always gets more love than "I."

Kiske had already worn out his welcome with me by the time "II" rolled around. (I won't even discuss how I feel about Pink Bubbles or Chameleon.  Yuck! :D )
