Alrighty people, just signed up as i'm looking a good forum to hang out in now and again and hopefully get some knowledge in to the bargin!!

I've tried a couple of other forums and found them very stale, lets hope you are a lively'er bunch ;)

Anyway I hail from the not so Sunny isle of Ireland, and I generally listen to anything, mainly it has to have well written songs and technically good then i'll listen to it......... I am against music snobs...any music that sounds good to you is good music, other people might not like what you listen to but that's ok :)

Amyway folk i'll leave that there and go and hopfully get chatting to some of you....

take care

Welcome Heed, I thought you were from Yorkshire with an opener like that. I love Ireland - the only part of these windswept islands wetter than Lancashire!
Hope you find we're receptive to most things here. The site swings from very active to everyone's washing their hair tonight and not playing, but the more the merrier!

Hi there Heed. I have worked with a number of Irish lads (and lasses) over the years, and their knowledge of metal would be about as extensive as their knowledge of cricket i.e. non-existent! It's good to hear from an Irish metal fan.

Cheers, yeah the metal scene over this neck of the woods is piss poor, we get some decent gigs happening but very rarely do the shows sell out, and that's small venues...I've been to Slayer shows with less than 800 folk at them!!  I pretty recently seen Kadavar and there wouldn't hace even been 50 folk there.....dance music has a bigger following here

Same here. I'll drink a cold lager when its hot (not bud, tried one a few weeks ago and never again) but normally I'll take a good English bitter or strong ale. Quite like porters and stouts too. Guinness West Indies porter is a current favourite. Got two in the cupboard I'm saving for Christmas Day. Wink

Yeah it's a 6%. I think the strongest beer I regularly buy is the Wychwood King Goblin at 6.6%.

I've been trying to find some of the Robinsons Trooper Red 'n' Black porter (6.8%) but we can't get it around here for love nor money. Well I could if I bought it in a crate direct from the brewery but it doesn't work out good value unless you buy two cases at once and I can't afford a nearly £50 bill for beer in one hit. In shops its supposed to be exclusive to Morrisons stores but every one I've been in doesn't stock it.

Of course. Not a fan but I caught saw a bit of them live one time at the London Guitar Show. Years ago now. Very small venue. Also saw Iron Maiden's drummer Nicko McBrain there on the same day. Can't recall who the guitarist he played with was now though. Phil someone I think.
