In that case, Opeth.

I mean anything that isn't metal, hard rock, or hardcore. So anything metal related, non-metal, or not on the site.

Well the band I thought would produce one of the best non-metal releases of the year went and made a metal album this year (Fejd), so other than that it depends on what you mean by 'non-metal'. If hard rock counts, then Blood Ceremony's Lord of Misrule. If you mean stuff we'd only put in MR at most, then Opeth - Sorceress. Or if you mean Non-Metal at most then I'll say the same as Nicole: Purson's Desire's Magic Theatre. Though it was definitely a step down from their debut.

Purson's new one was quite good though I'd have liked it to have more hard rock tracks like their first one. Other than that not much from outside metal grabbed me this year.

Since I know many of us listen to different kinds of music, what's everyone's favorite non-metal album of the year?

Mine is the new Deadmau5 album pretty easily. While it's not quite as good as his last album, which is hard to top, it's still a very good album. There's a nice mix of techno, house, and trip-hop.

I did really like the new RHCP as well, but I felt like it had a bit of filler.
