This one's pretty good, too:

And this one... which I still need in my collection:

It's got a spaceship on the cover, which is enough to make it epically cool!

Oh, and I adore this one, too:

Apparently, I have a weakness for space themed death metal :-S

^ I would've definitely jumped on that oppurtunity! I don't even think I was born at that point, though! LOLEmbarrassed

I've been getting into Covenant a lot in the last month or so. I never used to like it as much as Altars of Madness or Domination, but it's really growing on me lately.

Covenant is a classic. Its recorded in Copenhagen, Denmark you know. I used to know a guy who had an internship at Sweet Silence Studios as part of his final year in secondary School and he happened to be there while Morbid Angel was recording Covenant. Too bad he wasnt a heavy metal fan. Those of us who were could only drool at the opportunity he had been given.

Ive seen Bolt Thrower live twice. Once on the tour for The IVth Crusade and once on the tour for ...For Victory. The latter tour featured Martin Van Drunen on vocals as Karl Willets had quit the band fo the first time before that tour. The first show I went to was absolutely amazing. Lots of stagediving and moshing. The show was recorded and shown on MTV Headbangers Ball.

The show with Martin Van Drunen was also really great, but I twisted my ankle and had to be carried home by my brother. We were picked up miles from home in the middle of the night ( and it was a School night) by my mother who was furious, so all in all a succesful eveningLOL.

AutopsyThumbs Up Pretty big fan here too. Ive got the picture vinyl version of Mental Funeral. Pretty cool artifact.
.. Album Cover

Believe it or not ( the violent artwork in mind) it was actually my grandmother who gave me "Acts of the Unspeakable" for Christmas back then ( together with Butchered at Birth by Cannibal Corpse):
.. Album Cover

I havent listened much to Incantation yet. Only a listen here and there. If were talking blasphemous anti-Christian death metal one of my favorites is Angelcorpse ( http://www.metalmusicarchives.com/angelcorpse.aspx?ac=angelc)

Its not long ago I reviewed their debut:
.. Album Cover
and Im currently listening to Exterminate and are planning to write a review of that one soon:

Fuck yes! Love some Bolt Thrower.

Two others I adore are: Autopsy and Incantation.

The latter oozes darkness out of those angular riffs. Mortal Throne of Nazarene is one of my favourite regardless of metal sub-genre.

I hope to get around to reviewing some Paradise Lost albums at some point. Unfortunately, with Sea of Tranquility reviewing and promos, I rarely have time to review other albums. There's a lot of reviews I want to write, but not nearly enough time to do it.

oh well taste is tasteSmile. I just remember being very young and in awe of both Invocator and Paradise Lost. Sepultura on the other hand didnt do much for me. They were in fact quite the disappointment.

Ohh I listened to Lost Paradise a lot when I went on vacation this summer. It was spinning in my car stereo when I went to town to purchase food. Nick Holmes had balls back then. What a great growler. No fake processing there. It took its toll on him though. Paradise Lost actually cancelled their first two appearances in Denmark because of problems with Nick Holmes voice. It came to a situation where the band had a hard time finding a venue they could book when they came to visit Denmark on the tour for Shades of God. No one wanted them because the promoters were afraid that they would cancel again. So Paradise Lost first concert in Denmark ended up being in the now demolished Ungdomshuset on Jagtvej 69 ( Kim will know what Im talking about) with Tiamat and if I remember correctly Therion. I know this because it was my first extreme metal concert. And what a blast. I was a major fan at the time. On the tour for Icon they visited Denmark 3 times as far as I remember. One concert in Odense ( which I know Kim attended) and one concert in Pumpehuset in Copenhagen where I attended. Later that year they would play as support to Sepultura on their tour for Chaos A.D. I went to that concert too. Actually mostly to see Paradise Lost.

Im pretty sure you would enjoy "Dance of December Souls" quite a lot. I didnt use to enjoy it much ( Ive had a Cassette version for years), but Ive recently purchased the album cheap on CD and now Im beginning to understand why its so widely considered one of the seminal doom/ death albums from the early nineties.

Id like to recommend this album, which Im currently listening to a lot. Its free for legal download here http://contaigeon.bandcamp.com/album/death-at-the-gates-of-delirium:

Great filthy death metal with nods towards Morbid Angel and especially Immolation. I even detect some dark weirdness in the vein of oddball Australian death metal act Portal: http://www.metalmusicarchives.com/portal.aspx?ac=port
