That second thing you mention is more due to the nature of the game, where it is a singular story ultimately, but it's broken down into various sections in different regions, each with new characters showing up. I guess because I already knew what would happen, I was fine with it, but I can see it getting overwhelming over time.
Episode 3 was pretty much entirely original. SPOILERS (for both game and show): In the game, you only hear about Frank from a lore note you find in the area, while Bill is actually alive and helps Joel and Ellie through a brief section of the game. So, yeah, it was mentioned that he was gay in the game, but beyond that, the entire sequence was completely different, and by far the biggest deviation from the game. Episode 7 itself was accurate, except that it was a DLC, separate from the main story. Everything else was pretty much accurate, except with some sections sped up a bit, while others were covered more thoroughly, and they maybe changed a few little plot points here and there (for example, I don't remember David being a preacher or a cannibal, but everything that happened there was familiar.) I was actually surprised by how well the finale nailed its sections, in particular. I'm excited to see how people react to Season 2, now that it's been officially confirmed to follow the story of TLOU2, which is VERY controversial, to say the least. I was somewhere in the middle, in that I loved parts of it, hated parts of it and was kinda mixed overall, so I'm interested in seeing if the show changes my opinions in any way.

I enjoyed The Last of Us. Never played the game due to console exclusivity. It has finally come to PC now but apparently is an absolute train wreck of a port.
I didn't care for episode 3 though. Not the content itself as a self-contained story but it felt far too early in the show to go deviating and I spent most of the episode (which was one of the longest in the season) wanting to resume the present storyline with Joel and Ellie. It suffered as well from an issue that the seventh season of Fear the Walking Dead does, which I'm currently stumbling through: introduces a new character, who is dead by the end of the episode. I've watched the first ten episodes of Fear season 7 and they have done this three times already. You have just enough time to start to like a character and then boom! They're dead and I'm left wondering what the point was other than filler.

Yeah, this ended up being amazing. Obviously, some scenes are sped up, while others are left out entirely, but for the most part they did a great job of including all the really important, plot relevant scenes, even expanding on some stuff, and the original content they added was fantastic (pretty much all of Episode 3 was original, as the game only mentioned that stuff very briefly in a note.) Watching this isn't an exact 1:1 replication of playing the game, but this may be the first videogame to TV (or film) adaptation ever, where I could safely say for people who prefer watching over playing, this is absolutely a worthwhile substitute.

^I also started that last night, though I'm only watching one episode per night, to balance it out with other things. I also already played both games, so I'm pretty much just watching it to see how well they adapt it/what changes they make along the way. The first two episodes were mostly faithful, with a bit of additional stuff, and obviously less action, which had to be done for it to work as a show, even if it is a bit disappointing in a way, because so far the infected have barely any presence at all, lol

Started watching The Last Of Us, pretty good so far. I am afraid it's overrated as read plenty of good reviews but I like it. By the way guys, who have Firestick? I found awesome app https://www.firestickhow.com/fast-task-killer-on-firestick.html to make your device run faster. Actually, this website is a real find check it out.

Just finished this. No one did farce quite like Tom Sharpe. Also interesting to see David Suchet and George Cole in roles so very different to their most famous ones.

This was pretty good. It started off shaky, to the point where I nearly switched off the first episode due to how cringe some of the comedy was getting (typical modern day Marvel ), but once it started focusing more on her powers and her family history, it got much more interesting. Not sure how I feel about the upcoming movie, mostly because Captain Marvel is pretty much a nothing character for me (I don't hate her like some people, I just think she's totally meh and not at all interesting), but hopefully Kamala can make it more enjoyable for me.

I've recently watched this one which I missed when it was first on:
As well as the original season of True Detective: But for the time being I'm not watching the others since they're an anthology series with a new start each time. I'm currently watching these two, one old one I've never seen and another recent one I'd missed until now: Both seem pretty great so far.

I never played this video game due to it being exclusive to Playstation (it's finally coming to PC this March). This first (feature length) episode was decent though.

Even accounting for historical and dramatic liberties, this was fucking good fun. Noisy and dirty and rough as fuck. Thomas Brodie-Sangster is brilliant as Malcolm McLaren, and Anson Boon's Johnny Rotten isn't far behind.
