I did terrible on the power metal list... but I am not the biggest power metal fan in the world, and the power metal releases I do like are typically more obscure.

And 66/100 on power metal. Happy with that; I wasn't expecting to beat Travis on this one.

I see via RYM you've only rated the recent Tad Morose, which I gather aren't anywhere near as well regarded as their old stuff before the long break between albums. I'm not a major fan myself though. I picked up Modus Vivendi cheap but I've never felt inclined to buy any more of their stuff.

There actually weren't any I hadn't heard of, just 15 I haven't actually listened to. About half of them are on my itunes to be listened to at some point (Savage Circus, Rage, Heaven's Gate, Pyramaze, Guardians of Time, Firewind, Mob Rules, Magic Kindgom), then there's some like, Thy Majestie, Fairyland and Forcentury which I definitely have to look into soon, since I like what I heard from them before, a couple others I'm vaguely interested in but don't consider a priority (White Skull, Black Abyss), then there's Tad Morose who I don't like from what I've heard, and From the Depth which I tried once and switched the album off after a couple tracks because it didn't look too good.

I expect you'll do better when I put a USPM list up. Though I don't know half as many USPM acts to keep it to one album per artist and get 100 albums. We'll see. May have to allow multiples for that one.

I only got 12%, although there were many albums that I've been meaning to listen to. Should really do that, but there's just so much music to listen to.

Yep...surprised there was even as many as 15 you didn't know. Interested to know which those were.

Out of everyone on MMA I should definitely get the top score, yeah. There's always a chance some guest will come in and score higher, but even that is probably doubtful.
Just started, and checked all 4 out of the first pile. Looking strong so far. Update: 85/100 So yeah, that should easily get top score.

Sadly, I was too busy with other things last year to listen to much music, so I had to opt out of this project this time around. I just want to say that adg211288 did an extremely good job with this list. I am looking forward to contributing to the 2016-list.
By the way, the strong representation of black metal seems to represent a shift, I think. In the beginning of MMA's existence, I think collabs by far preferred progressive metal, but over the years, things have become more diverse, which can only be a positive sign. |

I'm probably doing power metal next.
Will be keeping it to Euro power though, as I want to do USPM separately. Good news for you I reckon?

I got 7/100, lol! Not shocking, though, since I rarlely listen to Black Metal. If we ever do power metal on the other hand, I'll be ashamed if I get less than 50%, and not overly happy if I don't get at least 75%.

^Only got 8% on that one, but unsurprising as I'm pretty picky when it comes to black metal.

I should make a separate topic for these rather than keep high-jacking this one, but I'm going to keep using List Challenges to put the MMA name out there.
Unfortunately I've no longer got the full results for previous best of year lists (and I don't feel like recalculating them right now) so every so often I'm going to put up a genre theme list. Starting with this one: http://www.listchallenges.com/metal-music-archives-100-black-metal-albums

Online shopping is a bit shit in NZ. Costs a bloody fortune to ship anything here, or if something is stocked in NZ, it's way overpriced.

^ I hardly ever find anything I want locally in the shops. It's got to the point where I rarely waste my time looking and just order online.

5% for the 2014 list I haven't even heard Machine Head's Bloodstone & Diamonds. I simply haven't seen it for sale ANYWHERE!

^ You need to put a stop to that, spending your record money! It's a disgrace!
Not so many of the 2014 for me - 34% ( heard 25 of 73 but own 23 of them). Heard bits of another 10 or so but not the whole album.
