 Clue: this is a very well known band, but this isn't necessarily one of their best known albums. But maybe that will narrow it down.  Clue: This band has made a lot of albums but only two in this one's style.

I looked all through Iron Maiden, thinking I'd missed something there. Then I thought about bands similar to Iron Maiden - Helloween came up, which led me to:  Not bad for someone who has only ever given Gamma Ray a bit of a passing interest.

This also looks familiar. If I didn't know any better I'd guess Masta Ace Incorporated's Slaughtahouse, but I know that can't be it. A hint for mine is it's a humorous band.

My first thought with that clue was Tenacious D, but maybe this band was in the back of my mind as well. I've never listened to them so I presume I just remember you mentioning them at some point.

A first clue for this would be that there is a person on the cover that is not a band member, but was a famous, now deceased, writer.
